PILE DYNAMICS - Key Persons
Adrian joined GRL and PDI in 2003 and currently leads the finance/administration team for both firms. He has 15 years of experience in corporate strategy and business operations, including entrepreneurial undertakings. Prior to working at GRL and PDI, Adrian worked for international agencies in peacekeeping operations. Adrian holds a MBA from Case Western Reserve University and a MA in International Relations from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of The Johns Hopkins University.
Anna Sellountou received her five-year Civil Engineering Degree from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece in 1999, and her PhD from University of Houston in 2004, under the supervision of Professor M.W. O'Neill, one of the worlds' leading experts in Deep Foundations. She began her career at Fugro in Houston, Texas, where she worked on diverse domestic and international projects (with an emphasis on deep foundations testing) including numerous LNGs and Bridges. In 2012, she joined Pile Dynamics Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio, where she got involved with R&D and product development for deep foundation testing. Anna is in charge of business development and technical operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, in collaboration with local PDI representation. Anna serves in various committees in DFI, ACI, PDCA, ASTM, where she is highly involved with specifications and codes revision activities.

Brent joined PDI in 1999 as a research engineer. In addition to his R&D activities in high and low strain foundation testing, Brent has tested and analyzed the foundations of multiple bridges, stadiums, offshore oil platforms and other structures, and frequently trains new users of equipment manufactured by Pile Dynamics, Inc. Brent holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and a MS and PhD in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. Brent is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and of its Geo-Institute, and a past chair of the Geotechnical Committee of the Cleveland Section of ASCE, which recognized him with its President's Award. He is the author of multiple peer reviewed papers and FHWA publications, having received the Transportation Research Board Best Paper Award in Soil Mechanics in 2010. Brent has achieved Expert level on the PDCA/PDI Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency Test and on the Foundation QA High Strain Dynamic Testing Examination.

Cassidy joins the PDI sales team in 2021 to manage sales and customer support in international markets, including Asia, Europe and UAE. She graduated from Cleveland State University, and has strong customer service, organizational and leadership skills. Cassidy has experience in client relationship management and is a valuable member of the team.
Diane joined PDI in 2016 and currently leads the marketing team for both PDI and GRL Engineers. She has 25+ years of experience in corporate, industry and entrepreneurial marketing and operations, most notably managing marketing activities and strategies in the communications, product, direct, and digital marketing arenas. Diane holds a BA in Business and Organizational Communication from the University of Akron with a minor in Marketing Strategy, and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Pile Driving Contractor Association.
Frank Rausche is one of the founders of Pile Dynamics, Inc. He started his engineering education at the Technische Hochschule in Stuttgart, Germany, and received his Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Frank is a licensed professional engineer in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Colorado, a Diplomate in Geotechnical Engineering from the Academy of Geo-professionals, has achieved Expert level on the PDCA/PDI Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency Test and holds a Foundation QA Expert Certificate in Data Acquisition and Data Interpretation for High-Strain Dynamic Pile Testing. During his years with GRL Frank traveled the world providing foundation testing services and educating engineers on dynamic testing methods. Frank received the 2000 Civil Engineer of the Year Award and the 2009 G. Brooks Earnest Award from the Cleveland Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the 2003 Distinguished Service Award and the 2015 Osterberg Memorial Lecture Award from the Deep Foundations Institute. He is a member of ACI, ADSC, ASCE, DFI, German Geotechnical Society, ISSMFE, PDCA and the TRB committee on Foundation of Bridges and Structures. Frank developed the CAPWAP and GRLWEAP programs, holds five patents and has had more than 50 of his papers published in journals and conference proceedings.

Garland Likins was one of PDI's original founders in 1972, and was President of PDI from 1977 to 2014. In that capacity he directed the research and development of transducers, real time processing equipment and software analysis programs for deep foundations. As President Emeritus, Garland remains a principal and senior consultant for PDI. He was a partner in GRL Engineers until 2016 and conducted dynamic pile testing on numerous projects. He has a BS and a MS in Civil Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and has achieved Expert level on the PDCA/PDI Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency Test and on the Foundation QA High Strain Dynamic Testing Examination. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), the Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA), and ADSC. He has received the President's Award from PDCA and the Distinguished Service Award from DFI. He holds three patents and has received five ASTM Standard Development Awards. Garland is a frequent lecturer and has published more than 100 papers. He is a licensed professional engineer in Ohio.

George Piscsalko is the President of Pile Dynamics, Inc. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Ohio, Michigan, and New Jersey. He has 30 years experience in designing test equipment for the deep foundation industry. He has been involved in the design and development of foundation test equipment including the Pile Driving Analyzer® (PDA) system, Pile Integrity Tester (PIT), Cross Hole Analyzer (CHA), and Thermal Integrity Profiler (TIP) for drilled shafts and ACIP piles as well as the Pile Installation Recorder (PIR) for ACIP piles. He holds US Patents for the design of the Remote Pile Driving Analyzer and the Thermal Wire® cable system.
George holds a BS in Urban and Economic Development from Cleveland State University. Since officially joining PDI in 2016, after many years of working part time through high school and college repairing strain gauges and assembling CHAMP Main Units, George has taken on the Production Manager role, overseeing all Thermal Product Line operations.
Liqun Liang joined PDI in 1997 and is mainly in charge of the development and improvement of the CAPWAP®, GRLWEAP and PIT-W software. He completed his Ph.D. studies in Geotechnical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in 1995 and received The TELFORD PREMIUM 1995 from the Institution of Civil Engineers (United Kingdom). As a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Ohio, Texas and Oregon, he also performed peer reviews on technical reports and journal papers. In addition to training and lectures in seminars/workshops worldwide, he has been actively involved in the research and development related to testing of deep foundations. Liqun has performed numerous testing and analysis for various construction projects, in both private and public sectors in the US and offshore, using different dynamic testing methods. He is the author of numerous technical papers and a member of the ASCE. Liqun has achieved Expert level on the PDCA/PDI Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency Test.

Mohamad Hussein,P.E. is Executive Vice President of GRL Engineers and Chairman of the Board for Pile Dynamics, Inc. He has managed GLR's Florida office since 1987. In his 30+ years of association with the pioneers of foundation testing and analysis, he has worked on more than 1000 deep foundation projects in 35 States in the USA and 20 countries. He has consulted on more than 300 bridge projects of all sizes in the State of Florida and conducted state-of-the-art research on deep foundations in association with Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and Universities. He frequently organizes educational courses and seminars on deep foundations, including directing the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Continuing Education Course: Deep Foundations Design, Construction, and Quality Control. He also trains engineers, contractors, and the State DOTs on foundation testing and analysis, frequently co-edits conference proceedings and books and has more than 80 papers, articles, book chapters, and presentations on the subject. Mohamad is a member of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, ASCE, National Society of Professional Engineers, Florida Engineering Society, Deep Foundations Institute, American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), Precast Concrete Institute, Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA), International Association of Foundation Drilling (ADSC) and others. He has chaired several technical committees of these organizations, most notably the Deep Foundations Committee of the ASCE's Geo- Institute. Mohamad is the recipient of the 2010 Florida Geotechnical and Materials Engineering Council Award, and the 2011 PDCA Professional Engineer Award. He has achieved Expert level on the PDCA/PDI Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency Test and on the Foundation QA High Strain Dynamic Pile Testing examination and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, Alabama, New Jersey and Mississippi.

Jim joined PDI in 2015 with focus on our Thermal Product Line, including Thermal Integrity Profiler and Thermal Wires®. Prior to PDI, Jim's careers have been in selling industrial supplies and equipment to all industry sectors, as well as fiber optic sensing products for bridge structural monitory and security applications.

Nicole joined PDI in 2010. She leads the hardware and software sales teams, and oversees PDI's 30+ representative network worldwide. Nicole has 10 years of sales experience and 15+ in customer service. She holds a BA in Business and Marketing from Ursuline College, with an Associates of Arts and is a member of the American Managers Association.

Shannon joined PDI in 2011 and currently is responsible for Worldwide Software Sales and Client Support, along with PHP Testing. In addition to PDI's international business, Shannon executes flawless Webinar Trainings facilitated by the Founders and PDI's Training Workshops. She has extensive experience in Sales and Marketing, which includes Consumer Behavior, Strategic Communications and Marketing Strategy with a strong background in superior client satisfaction. Shannon holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Communications and Marketing from Cleveland State University.

Bob joined PDI in 1993 as an Electronic Technician and has held various roles within the organization throughout his tenure. Currently, Bob is a Production Manager overseeing production scheduling and customer service and repairs. He holds an AS and BS in Electrical Engineering from ETI Technical College and plays and integral role in PDI's reputable superior customer service.

Ryan has been a project engineer with GRL since 2004. He has a BS in Civil Engineering from Cleveland State University and has achieved Expert level on the PDCA/PDI Dynamic Measurement and Analysis Proficiency Test. After several years performing the entire range of services offered by GRL throughout the United States and in international offshore projects, Ryan is currently responsible for all GRL's educational programs for foundation testing professionals. In that capacity he has lectured on numerous seminars, webinars and workshops on foundation testing and has co-authored papers on the subject. Ryan is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Deep Foundations Industry and Pile Driving Contractors Association, and a registered professional engineer in Ohio, Kentucky, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Indiana.
Tom has been with PDI since 2002. He has served in various roles throughout the organization in engineering, service and production. His previous roles include Product Development Manager and Production Manager. Tom joined the PDI Sales Team in 2016. He manages PDI clients throughout the USA and Canada.
