Edem Gbedemah

Job Titles:

Edem Gbedemah is the Chief Executive Officer of Serengeti Asset Management. Edem joined the team in October 2016. Edem has over eight years of experience in international asset management, portfolio analysis, and tax mitigation. Prior to joining Serengeti Asset Management, Edem worked as a Wealth Manager at deVere Group, where he managed offshore investments for retail and corporate clients. Edem oversees Serengeti Asset Management's pension and non-pension business lines and also manages key client portfolios. Edem holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Ghana, Legon, and is an associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments, UK.

Elkin Pianim

Elkin Pianim founded the predecessor entity to Serengeti, Resource Africa in 2006. Elkin is a Partner of Serengeti Capital, and is based in Accra, Ghana. Elkin has over a decade of Africa experience, both in principal and advisory roles, and has worked in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe, in areas as diverse as finance, infrastructure, manufacturing and extractive industries. Prior to that, Elkin was an experienced media entrepreneur, in the US, as a principal in a US$40M buyout of 2 TV stations, and in the UK, founding a weekly newspaper later sold to the Mirror Group. Elkin began his career as an investment banker at Rothschild, Inc., in New York, and later joined Fox Television Stations, where he was responsible for financial reporting and acquisitions. Elkin holds a BA from Vassar College and a MBA from London Business School.

Erica Bosumprah

Francis Kalitsi - CEO

Job Titles:

Francis Kalitsi is a Founding and Managing Partner of Serengeti Capital, and is based in Accra, Ghana. Prior to founding Serengeti Capital, Francis spent two years with Renaissance Capital in a variety of positions including Head of its Real Estate Private Equity business in Africa and as a Director of Corporate Finance and Investment Banking in West Africa. Before joining Renaissance Capital, from 2001 to 2007, Francis was an Investment Officer at the International Finance Corporation in Washington DC where he managed key client relationships, negotiated and executed several principal equity investments for the IFC in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia. Before leaving the IFC, Francis was the New Business Coordinator for South Asia in its Global Financial Markets Department. Francis began his career with Merrill Lynch in 1992 and later joined Marriott International's Development Finance Group in Bethesda, MD. In that role he was part of the team that crafted and executed the Corporation's growth strategy, which included introducing new lodging brands, multiple acquisitions of international hotel companies, and divestitures. Francis holds a BSc from Boston University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business, where he was a Merit Scholar.

Harrison Owusu

Harrison Owusu is the Head of Finance and Administration at Serengeti Capital Markets. Harrison joined the team in June 2017. Harrison's responsibilities include performing administrative tasks and preparing financial reports. Prior to joining Serengeti, Harrison was an Audit Manager with AKUS Chartered Accountants and a Tax Consultant and Accountant for a number of Kumasi based firms. Harrison holds an HND in Accounting from the Kumasi Technical University, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana, and is a holder of a Securities Industry Certificate from the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Iris Asaase

Iris Asaase is a Senior Associate at Serengeti Capital. Iris joined the team in June 2011, and is based in Accra, Ghana.

Isaac Oteng-Poku

Isaac Oteng-Poku is an Administrative Officer at Serengeti Asset Management. Isaac joined the team in September 2015. Isaac's primary responsibilities at Serengeti Asset Management include managing client investment records and preparing portfolio reports. Prior to assuming the role of Administrative Officer, Isaac was a Research Analyst at NewWorld Securities. Isaac holds a BSc in Business Administration from Central University, Ghana.

Kofi Labi

Kofi is an Analyst at Serengeti Capital. Kofi joined the team in May 2018, and is based in Accra, Ghana. Kofi's primary responsibilities at Serengeti include industry research, quantitative analysis, and investment memoranda preparations. Kofi also supports the Sales and Export team for one of Serengeti's principal investments, Kete Krachi Timber Recovery Ltd. Prior to joining Serengeti Capital, Kofi spent two years in the Asset Management department of a private equity investment firm, Anchor Loans, in Calabasas, California. Kofi holds a BA in Physics from Whittier College, California.

Mawuena Klomanyi

Mawuena Klomanyi is the Head of the Brokerage Department at Serengeti Capital Markets. She joined the team in November 2015. Mawuena is a Licensed Securities Trader with over a decade of experience in stock trading and investment advisory services in Ghana. At Serengeti, she is responsible for ensuring the timely execution of clients' orders and strict adherence to industry regulations and directives.

Richmond Agbesi - CFO

Job Titles:

Richmond Agbesi is Head of Finance and Administration for Serengeti. He is based in Accra, Ghana. Since joining the firm in 2008, Richmond has been responsible for developing and managing compliance and reporting functions. His ongoing responsibilities include tax planning, financial reporting, managing the firm's IT platform, and assisting in various aspects of due diligence. Prior to joining Serengeti, Richmond was an Audit Manager with Andah & Andah Chartered Accountants, a well-known Ghanaian firm of Chartered Certified Accountants. At Andah & Andah he led and participated in teams that undertook various assignments in leading Ghanaian companies including, Western Telesystems (now Airtel), Labadi Beach Hotel, Super Paper Products Company Ltd., Centre Properties Limited, Computer Frontiers International (Gh) Limited and Tri-Star Insurance Services. Richmond obtained a BSc from the University of Ghana, Legon, is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the UK, and holds a Securities Industry Certificate from the Ghana Stock Exchange.

William Tettey - CFO

William Tettey is the Chief Accountant at Serengeti Asset Management. William joined the team in March 2015. William's primary responsibilities at Serengeti include performing accounting and administrative tasks. Before joining Serengeti, William spent 9 years with Top Industries Limited as a Senior Accountant in Accra, Tema, and Kumasi. William is a member of the Association of Certified Tax Accountants, UK and the Chartered Institute of Certified Tax Accountants, Ghana.

Wole Oyeleye

Wole Oyeleye is a Director at Serengeti. He joined the team in June 2014, and is based in Accra. Wole has over a decade of experience in financial services and management consulting in the United States, United Kingdom and West Africa, and has worked on commercial lending, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, valuation and corporate strategy for companies at various growth stages. As a founder and principal consultant at Nuovox Consulting, Wole led corporate finance engagements with clients across different geographies and industries, executing growth investment in companies and providing business intelligence in support of critical management decision making. Wole started his career at Ecobank, Nigeria, where he spent six years in a variety of roles. Wole Oyeleye holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MSc in Economics from the University of Lagos, and a BSc in Economics from Lagos State University.
