Brooke Marshall graduated from Texas A&M Texarkana with her Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing. She had a successful career in home health marketing and petroleum land management before joining our team. Although born in Arkansas, Brooke is proud to call Texarkana her home with her husband, Todd, and their two Labradors, Lucy and Darlin. They look forward to adding twins to their family May 2017.
Just like her role at Texarkana Emergency Center, Brooke is a vital member of the community. She's a sustaining member of the Junior League, member of Wilbur Smith Rotary Club, on the committee for the local Cattle Barron's Ball benefiting the American Cancer Society, and a member of the Leadership Texarkana Class of 2016-2017. Brooke also supports and is involved in the organization, Women for the Arts.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, interior design, shopping and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Vernon "Dean" Bowman was born and raised in Ashdown, AR. After obtaining his BA in Biology from Southern Arkansas University, he then received his Masters of Science in Physiology and Biophysics from UAMS in 1997. He then earned his medical degree from University of Arkansas College of Medicine in 2002. After completing his residency with AHEC from 2002-2005, he opened his family practice in Ashdown.
He is board certified with American Board of Family Medicine. He has been serving the emergency needs of Texarkana and the surrounding areas at Wadley Regional Medical Center since 2006. He joined Texarkana Emergency Center in April 2016. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Renae, and his children Madelyn, Kadie, Jake, Kyla, and Tyler.
Dr. Erik Jacobsen has 14 years of experience in emergency medicine in Texarkana, making him an invaluable addition to our team. Quality emergency care is his passion with a special interest in pediatrics. He is looking forward to continuing his practice at the Texarkana Emergency Center and serving his community. Jacobsen lives in Texarkana with his wife and 5 children.
Dr. Groom is a native of Northeast Texas. He was born in Texarkana and grew up there and in DeKalb. He is a graduate of DeKalb High School. Later he attending Texarkana College, Wadley Regional Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology, and getting his BS from ETSU- Commerce. He went to medical school at the University of North Texas- Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth and attended an emergency medicine residency at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa Regional Medical Center. He is a board certified emergency physician with the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Physicians.
In 2004, he returned home to work as an emergency physician. He has served many roles since then including working as the director/owner of a rural clinic, a high school team physician, part owner/supervising physician of a medical spa, Stroke director, EMS director, assistant director and director of local emergency departments. On a personal note, he enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife Leann and three sons Tyler, Kaden, and Hunter. His interest include hunting, fishing, and ranching.

Dr. Matthew Young has been practicing Emergency Medicine in East Texas for over 16 years. Dr. Young is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He studied and received his training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Young has served as the Medical Director of Emergency Services at both local hospitals.
Dr. Young has been the Medical Director for LifeNet, Inc. for more than a decade. Dr. Young is happily married to his wife of many years, Cindy. They have two sons, Logan and Garrett. Dr. Young is the son of Dr. Mitchell and Donna Young. Dr. Mitchell Young practiced general surgery in the area for over 40 years.
Dr. William "Bo" Kelley has been servicing the emergency needs in Texarkana for the last 15 years. Kelley grew up in northeast Texas and started his health care career over 20 years ago in nursing, focusing on emergency care and expanded his role to advanced nurse practitioner in 2005, before finally earning his medical degree in 2011.
After completing his residency in 2014 at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, he continued his passion to serve his community as an emergency room physician. He is board certified, focusing his practice on both rural and community emergency care.
Kelley has made his home in this community with his wife, Tammy, and their four children, Dalton, Dailyn, Meredith and Brayden.
