PLANT CONTINGENT

The Plant Contingent is an artist-philosopher collective located across the United States and Ecuador. We use synchronous and asynchronous processes to explore how to be and think -together and apart. We represent a range of cultural origins, academic fields, and creative practices; developing connections over time, place, and through a variety of artistic and intellectual media. Ideas emerge organically, elucidating different ways of living and translating ourselves into the future. We engage with the messy and beautiful entanglements and extensions of the plant world and seek to make encouraging situations for others to do so along with us... The Plant Contingent seeks new ways of making ourselves open to other ontologies, in this case, plant thinking. Instead of looking to another realm, we allow plant-being to guide our hands.
