Ana Diaz

Ana is a registered psychologist, is fluent in English and Spanish, and works primarily with adults with a special interest in alcohol and drug dependence abuse, interpersonal relationships, and adjustment and stress-related disorders.

Bec Meagher

Bec Meagher is a provisional psychologist undertaking her internship year after completing the Master of Professional Psychology program at the Australian National University. During her training, Bec provided evidence-based psychological interventions at Canberra Head to Health where she is currently working three days a week, delivering individual and group therapy to consumers in a public setting. She will be seeing children (aged 5-12) and adolescents (aged 12-18) from July 2023. Bec's approach to therapy is empathetic, person-centred and collaborative. She has experience working with adults and is particularly passionate about working with children, adolescents and families. Bec works within an evidence-based therapeutic approach informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and has knowledge about Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) frameworks. Bec has experience working across varied clinical presentations, including anxiety, depression, stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and disordered eating.

Caitlin Hammond

Caitlin Rees

Caitlin is a registered psychologist who was drawn to working in mental health while practicing as a registered nurse.

Dr Emma Adams

Dr Emma Adams is a psychiatrist specialising in perinatal and infant mental health. She also sees general adult psychiatry, in particular anxiety disorders, mood disorders and trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in first responders and other situations. She has an interest in sexual and gender health and the interface of medical conditions with psychiatry, as well as doctor's mental health. Dr Adams has been in psychiatry for over 25 years over many settings and services in Australia as well as in Canada. She studied medicine at the University of Queensland and trained in emergency medicine for a time before switching to psychiatry. She is an advocate for not only the biological and psychological aspects of health, but also the social, cultural, community and environmental aspects of social and emotional wellbeing. Dr Adams consults at Think Mental Health two days a week but is currently on extended leave, due to return in August.

Dr Louise Stone

Dr Louise Stone is a General Practitioner (GP) with clinical, research, policy and educational expertise in mental health. She has led Master's programs in GP psychiatry and completed her PhD exploring the management of patients with medically unexplained symptoms, so she sees many patients with mixed emotional and physical symptoms. Dr Stone is the Deputy Chair of the ACT Health Human Research Ethics committee and is a member of the GP Mental Health Standards Collaboration. She has previously worked at Yarralumla Surgery and The Junction Youth Health Service and writes extensively about GP mental health care in various journals. Dr Stone understands the complex and intersectional issues of mental health, physical health and life circumstances, the barriers to accessing mental health support, and how mental health can impact a person's overall well-being. She believes that healthcare is a partnership, and encourages collaboration in her consultations. Dr Stone also offers a Doctor's Clinic to give doctors access to quality care which she runs in conjunction with her regular services. She is leading an international book on doctors' health and another on GP mental health care in Australia. Dr Louise Stone is a general practitioner (GP) with extended skills in mental health, who works with patients across the lifespan, with a particular interest in working with young people.

Dr Meredith Whiting

Dr Meredith Whiting is a Consultant Psychiatrist with a particular interest in working with survivors of trauma, including Complex PTSD, perinatal work and longer-term patient care. Dr Whiting undertook her psychiatry training in Canberra and Sydney. She was awarded the NSW Institute of Psychiatry Special Training Fellowship in 2005 where she undertook work in the Northern Sydney Sexual Assault Services and the Royal North Shore Hospital High-Risk Antenatal Service. She has since spent time in the ACT Public Mental Health Service, the not-for-profit sector and in private practice. She is the Jurisdictional representative on the Bi-National Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry Family Violence Network Committee. She is committed to teaching and has ongoing commitments to psychiatrists in training and professionals in diverse disciplines. Dr Whiting is grateful for the privilege of working with people over longer periods of time with psychotherapeutic and talking therapies particularly. This can sometimes result in limitations on her capacity to take on new patients.

Emily Bell

Emily Bell is a provisional psychologist completing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the Australian National University (ANU). She will be seeing adults and adolescents aged 16+. During her training, Emily provided evidence-based psychological interventions at the ANU student-led psychology clinic and at the Eating Disorders Clinical Hub. Emily's research is focused on eating disorders, including the role of intuitive and mindful eating within eating disorder recovery. She also works part-time at the Eating Disorders Program. Emily is passionate about working with people from all backgrounds and strives to foster a collaborative and supportive relationship with her clients. Emily works from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, whilst also drawing from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills (DBT), Interpersonal Psychopathology (IPT), and motivational interviewing approaches.

Joanna Maning

Joanna is a registered psychologist undertaking the clinical registrar program. Jo is passionate about connecting with clients from a person-centred perspective.

Louise Hurley

Louise is a registered psychologist who is passionate about taking a strength-based, person-centred approach to working with clients as they navigate mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and interpersonal issues.

Melissa Nihill

Michelle McRae

Her experience is primarily with adults, older persons and older adolescents (16+) and she has a strong interest in trauma management, including the use of eye movement desensitisation and reprogramming (EMDR) therapy.

Miranda Morrissey

Sean Dicks

Sean is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years' experience. He enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan with varied clinical presentations and has particular experience, training and interest in working with couples undertaking relationship counselling. His approach is to assist couples in identifying and changing some of the difficult dynamics and patterns that develop in relationships. Sean also assists families to explore relationships within the family system.
