Dr. James E. Murphy was born and raised in Reno, NV. He chose to earn his bachelor's degree here at home from The University of Nevada, Reno, before attaining his medical degree from the same institution's medical school in 1991.
His passion for his country then led Dr. James E. Murphy to enlist in the United States Navy. Our doctor spent two years as a medical corpsman during Desert Storm, proudly serving the nation.
Dr. James E. Murphy then completed a series of highly prestigious surgical residencies across the U.S. before deciding to return home to Reno. He chose to come back here because he wanted to raise his family in his hometown while creating the thriving surgery practice our city deserves.
Dr. James E. Murphy provides both plastic and reconstructive surgery, and is an expert in facial reconstruction for patients injured in accidents. For over 25 years, he has provided cleft lip and palate surgeries for pediatric patients. Helping these young patients has proven to be an indescribably rewarding experience.
