Jointly supported by Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the Advanced Imaging Center makes imaging technologies developed at Janelia available to the scientific community prior to commercialization. Scientific investigators from nonprofit organizations anywhere in the world may apply to use the facility... Our solution was to create the AIC. In alignment with Janelia's philosophy of encouraging bold science, the AIC welcomes proposals with high-risk/high-gain projects. The AIC will cover lodging and basic experimental cost for scientists whose proposals have been accepted to come to Janelia to perform their experiments... The Advanced Imaging Center at HHMI Janelia creates access to microscopy and imaging technologies and expertise available to the world, available at no cost.
