Andrew N. Liveris AO is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company and the former Executive Chairman of DowDuPont. As the company's longest-serving non-family CEO, and with a combined 42 years of experience at Dow, his career included roles in manufacturing, engineering, sales, marketing, and business and general management before becoming CEO and Chairman.
Andrew was appointed as a Special Advisor to the Australian Government's National COVID-19 Coordination Commission and he is a member of the Australian Design Council.
He is the inaugural Chairman of the University of Queensland In American Foundation. In 2018, Andrew and his wife Paula gave a historic $13.5 million to the University of Queensland to establish the Andrew N. Liveris Academy for Innovation and Leadership, with a vision to nurture the next generation of emerging leaders to deliver innovative solutions to the world's greatest challenges.
Andrew is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of The Institute of Chemical Engineers as well as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. He earned a Bachelor's degree with first-class honours in chemical engineering from the University of Queensland and was awarded the University Medal for that year.
