Anne Longfield

Anne has championed the cause of vulnerable children and young people for over three decades. She is the Executive Chair and Founder of the Centre for Young Lives. She is a former Children's Commissioner for England and charity CEO. She has been a special advisor to the House of Lords and a policy advisor on Sure Start in No 10. She is the Independent Chair of the NHS Children and Young People Steering Group on Learning Disability and Autism. She lives in the Bradford area.

Charlotte Ramsden - CEO

Charlotte was previously Strategic Director for People at Salford City Council, responsible for Children's and Adult Services and Public Health and was Director of Children's Services before that. She is the Immediate Past President of the Association of Directors of Children's Services and was awarded an OBE for services to Children's Services.

Darra Singh

Darra was brought up and educated in Bradford, he is the son of first-generation migrants who moved to inner-city Bradford from the Punjab in 1959. Starting work in housing charities, he became CEO of several housing associations, CEO of Luton Borough Council, London Borough of Ealing and Jobcentre Plus. He was non-executive Chair of Barnardo's Audit and Risk Committee for five years. Darra has also worked in the private sector and is now a Strategy Partner at Newton Europe.

Eileen Milner - Chairman

Eileen is a former Chief Executive Officer of the Education and Skills Funding Agency, responsible for a £67 billion budget and policy and delivery across education and skills. Prior to this she was an Executive Director at the Care Quality Commission, the regulator of health and adult social care in England.

Fazeela Hafejee

Fazeela has more than 20 years' experience in health, social care and advocacy for individuals, families and carers needing care and support. Bradford born and bred, she has also worked as a consultant in strategic leadership, partnership building, change management, research and evaluation and service development. She is a guest lecturer at universities and has contributed to an academic workbook for social work students.

Julie Crellin

Julie previously worked as Major Projects Lead at City and Guilds, a Royal Chartered Institute and charity specialising in skills development and qualifications, but prior to this had spent all her career in local government. Julie is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and was Director of Finance (s151 Officer) for Cumbria County Council between 2012-21, where she was responsible for a range of corporate support services, lead officer for Audit and Risk Committee and Cumbria LGPS Fund and was an integral member of the Corporate Management Team, reporting to the Chief Executive. In her CMT role, she provided direct leadership support to Children's Services as they implemented a significant improvement programme in this period.

Nigel Richardson

Nigel has more than 35 years' experience in local government leadership roles in the UK, most recently as Director of Children's Services at Leeds City Council, where he helped develop the idea of Leeds as a ‘Child Friendly City'. He now works as a consultant and a Department for Education Commissioner and Improvement Adviser, helping organisations to develop effective approaches to child welfare issues.

Sarah Muckle

Sarah has been Director of Public Health in Bradford for six years and has worked across the NHS and local government in senior public health roles in both West Yorkshire and Scotland. Prior to this, her background was in nursing, working across a range of specialisms, including acute medicine, cancer care and treatment and as a community health visitor.

Stuart Proud

Stuart is a qualified accountant with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, with a 37-year career in public sector services, working in a variety of Civil Service roles across central government departments and their agencies. Stuart is also a Non-Executive Director for an NHS Foundation Trust.

Tracey Dennison

Tracey has 25 years' experience as a people director in national and local public sector organisations, including the London Borough of Camden, the Audit Commission and the London Fire Brigade, where she was responsible for the Brigade's wellbeing response after the Grenfell Tower fire.
