Dr. Gautham Krishnamurthy, Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist and GI oncologist, has over 12 years of surgical experience. After doing under-graduation and post-graduation from Madras Medical College and Stanley Medical College respectively, he did super-specialization in Surgical Gastroenterology and GI oncology from Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. He was also elected as a Member of the Royal College of Edinburgh in 2014. After obtaining vast experience in laparoscopy surgery from GEM hospital Coimbatore, he worked as Assistant Professor, Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar Chennai. He is currently Consultant Surgical Gastroenterology and GI oncologist at SRM Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS Hospital), Vadapalani, Chennai. He has more 30 publications in national and international journals and has authored 3 book chapters. His current research is on chronic pancreatitis, surgical nutrition, difficult laparoscopic cholecystectomy and laparoscopic hernia surgeries. His current interest in minimal invasive cancer surgery (laparoscopy and robotic).
