Abbie Ironside

Abbie joined Muirden Energy in May 2022 as Operations Administrator Assistant, her role will see her supporting with the operational wind farm reporting and performance optimisation. Along with general administration tasks. Abbie has a wide range of different experiences working in public sectors, so is very much a people person. She has always found renewable energy interesting and exciting and will use her varied skill set to support all involved with Muirden Energy.

Alex Fowlie

Alex joined Muirden Energy in 2010 having graduated from Edinburgh University with a MA Honours degree in Business and Accounting and comes from a farming background. Since joining Alex has overseen the growth and development of the team and the expansion of the business which now includes over 50MWs of wind farm projects. He is responsible for the day to day management and development of Muirden Energy.

Angus Elder

Angus joined Muirden Energy as an Environmental Planner in 2011. He has worked on over 50 wind turbine and wind farm projects, including Section 36 submissions to The Scottish Government. In this time he has gained considerable experience of the EIA process and the Scottish planning system. Currently he oversees the business' preparation and management of applications for planning consent. His qualifications include an MSc in Environmental Assessment and Management, as well as membership as an Associate of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and a Technician of the Institute of Acoustics.

Chris Dall

Chris joined Muirden Energy in May 2014 taking on the role of Construction Engineer. He has a wide ranging background of various roads and construction schemes having worked both in the Public Sector and Construction Industry. Since joining Muirden Energy Chris has successfully overseen the installation of 13 wind turbines and was Project Manager on our 27.6MW Hill of Glaschyle Wind Farm Project, our biggest site to date. His qualifications include an HNC in Civil Engineering, as well as registration as an Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council and full membership as a Fellow of the Institute of Highway Incorporated Engineers.

Dave Green

Dave joined Grampian in 1995 as Arable Farms Manager. While running the farming business, Dave saw the opportunities in renewable energy and was responsible for the development at Strath of Brydock in 2005. Realising the potential of the industry and using this experience, Muirden Energy was set up. Dave is now CEO of the AJD group, which includes Muirden Energy, AJD Farms and Deveron Valley Eggs and is ultimately responsible for the group strategy and direction.

Fred Duncan

  • Grampian Country Foods Chairman
Fred was co-founder and Chairman of Grampian Country Food Group which was Scotland's largest privately owned company employing more than 24,000 people worldwide. Since the sale of the group in 2008, Fred has focused on his land and property assets which have grown considerably and now extend to over 10,000 acres and include 6,000 acres of arable farming, 460,000 laying hens and over 50MWs of wind farm projects within Muirden Energy.

John Moisey

John joined Muirden in the Autumn of 2015 having spent 5 years with SAC Consulting, working on all aspects of renewable energy projects. He has been responsible for client and business management activities as well as leading on multiple wind turbine developments. Building on his skill set John undertook a post graduate diploma in Acoustics, further expanding his knowledge. He Joins Muirden as a senior planner and maintains the compliance assessment protocols of all of Muirdens active developments whilst aiding in the planning and construction of sites using his experience to bring new ideas and efficiencies to Muirden.

Joy Wilde

Joy joined Muirden Energy in August 2017 as Operations Administrator and is responsible for the operational wind farm reporting and performance optimisation as well as looking after the Community Benefit, building a close relationship with local community councils and groups and also providing funding to good causes. Joy has gained experience in finance and operations from previous roles within the oil & gas sector. Her role will see her work closely with the Construction engineers to examine output across our portfolio of operational sites and create detailed reports on each sites performance to ensure maximum output is always achieved. Ross Gourlay

Ross joined Muirden Energy in June 2013 as a Project Engineer. Following growth of the construction team Ross was promoted to Project Development Manager and oversees all elements of project delivery and post planning approval. To date he has successfully overseen over 20 installations. Ross is responsible for the co-ordination and scheduling of present and future projects; ensuring they are delivered in line with the company objectives and OFGEM standards.
