Andy Moran

Andy has over 24 years of Estate Agency experience and has worked mostly in the London and Surrey markets. In that time, he has gained a wealth of experience within small and large Independent Agencies. His passion is to assist clients from valuing their homes and take them through the whole journey until completion. Andy grew up in the village of Cranleigh and went to school at George Abbot and loves working in the Guildford area. When not at work he loves spending time with his family. His other not so secret love is for Triathlon, and he has won his age group at the Long-Distance World Championship in Amsterdam in 2021. He has also had podium finishes in the UK, Spain and Portugal over the last two years and is competing in the Iron Man 70.3 World Champs in Utah, America in October 2022.

Angela Woods

Angela joined Chantries & Pewleys in late 2020 and brings with her a wealth of experience in property management. She started her career in 2013 on the South Coast, covering a wide area from Exeter to Brighton then moving onto work for a well-known and respected independent firm, where she also worked with Daniel Wood, our Head of Lettings and was responsible for the property management of over 160 homes. In her spare time, Angela loves nothing more than hitching up her caravan and exploring the English countryside, with her husband. She also partakes in a bit of paddle boarding too!

Anthony Brown

Anthony started his career in 1996 and has always worked in Guildford. He is responsible for the overall direction, business development and management of the company. Based in the Merrow office, he works in close conjunction with his partners on new marketing initiatives and PR but retains a high profile presence, operating very much at the sharp end of the business on a day-to-day basis.

Claire joined Pewleys in 2014. She enjoys being part of a team who employ a rational and pragmatic approach to their work alongside an inherent affability and integrity. Claire has always lived in the local area and gains satisfaction in interacting with clients and assisting them through either their sale or purchase.

Gavin Amberton

Job Titles:

Gavin started his estate agency career in 2006, working for a large high street chain. He later went on to work for a couple of smaller independent agents before joining Chantries (as it was then) in 2018 to help grow our market share. After a recent break in property, Gavin was keen to return to agency and so we are delighted to welcome him back as a Director of our newly opened Cranleigh office. Gavin brings with him a strong sales background in the local market, a genuine passion and revived enthusiasm for property. Having grown up in Guildford, Gavin has a wealth of local knowledge. Since welcoming his daughter in 2019, Gavin's extensive local pub knowledge has been extended to now include buggy friendly walking routes and the best soft play centres! When he's not working, Gavin enjoys playing golf and is a big football fan.

Graham Brown

Graham started in Estate Agency in 1985 and has worked for a number of high profile corporate and independent agents across Surrey dealing in all levels of the market from first time buyer / investment properties all the way through to the Country Homes Market. More recently Graham spent time as a licensed Real Estate Consultant in Dubai which he says was an experience to say the least!! Graham lives with his family in Chilworth and his children, who are now both grown up both went to George Abbot school in Merrow so he knows the area extremely well. Graham feels being part of the local community is important and most beneficial when helping clients find the right property to make their home. In his spare time Graham is a qualified Football Referee and is very active in the local football leagues so is used to dealing with situations where people don't always agree with each other!!

Helen Hurst

A very welcome addition to the team, Helen joined Chantries in 2014 as our Saturday assistant in Guildford. Since then she has expanded her role within the office maintaining our client database, to ensure their details are always up to date and they are informed of new properties matching their criteria as soon as they hit the market. Having lived in Guildford for many years, Helen knows the area incredibly well. She has 3 children who have all grown up and gone to school in Guildford, a dog and a recently adopted cat named Colin. Helen is a real people-person and brings with her a highly professional, diligent, approach as well as a wealth of experience in showing houses.

Joy Fletcher

Joy has worked in Estate Agency for a number of years in the Guildford area and terms herself as "old school"! Having worked in Guildford for both Strutt & Parker and Grantleys, she has gained a wealth of experience dealing with a wide range of property and enjoys meeting people from all backgrounds and helping them buy their homes. Joy loves the countryside and enjoys meeting up with family and friends.

Lorraine Rigden

Lorraine very much enjoys being part of our team in the Cranleigh office. Having moved to Ewhurst in 2013 for her son and daughter to attend local schools in Cranleigh and Guildford she knows the area extremely well. Her career started in design and marketing for a London based advertising agency. She has worked in Estate Agency since 2000 and has moved home a number of times having enjoyed the process of refurbishing and restoring older properties. She enjoys offering her local knowledge to help people find their new home, assisting both sellers and buyers with a high level of customer service. Outside of work she loves family walks with their Miniature Schnauzer enjoying the changing seasons and amazing views across the Surrey Hills.

Lucy Dean

After graduating with a degree in business management from Royal Holloway University, Lucy's working life began on TV show The Bill, as a script secretary before joining their PR team. A role that saw her having to attend plenty of parties and award ceremonies! After a stint at the BBC as part of the Children In Need PR team, Lucy moved into print media and joined TV Times until she left to have her son, Louie. Her daughter, Thea, followed quickly, and at five and three and a half years old, Lucy has decided being back at work would be far easier than continuing her role as full-time mum! She joined the team as Lettings Coordinator in February and is really enjoying being part of the team. In any precious spare time she gets, you can find Lucy running round Stoke Park, letting off steam in a Body Combat class or sampling the rose menu of Guildford's finest pubs with friends!

Lucy Griffiths

Lucy has worked in the property industry in Guildford for the last 20 years, starting with Seymours in the town centre before moving across to Pewleys in Merrow in 2018. She is responsible for the smooth running of the Merrow office, creating our brochures and adverts and keeping Anthony and Graham in line! Lucy lives in Merrow near the Downs with her young family, and both of her children attend local schools. In her spare time, she enjoys eating out and horse riding.

Matt Spennewyn

Matt has extensive knowledge of the local area and has lived in Ewhurst village for the past 3 years. He has been working in the industry since 2019 and continues to develop as his love for all things property year on year. As a family man, Matt spends his time with his partner and young daughter, while also making time for his other love, football. Matt has worked in both Sales and Lettings, with the main goal being excellent customer service from the beginning to end, whether that be a valuation of your property or negotiating as you purchase your dream home.

Richard Prynne

Richard has been involved in the property sector since starting in Estate Agency in 1982…..41 years ago!!! Having spent several years in estate agency Richard moved into the housebuilding sector and spent a number of years as Managing Director of regional divisions at both Charles Church and Fairclough Homes before returning to estate agency in 2009 when he established Pewleys in Shalford. Pewleys went from strength to strength over the next ten years, quickly becoming recognised as the Independent agent of choice in Guildford's village market. In 2020, Richard helped oversee the merger with Chantries and continues to be based in the Shalford office, still offering sound, professional advice to his clients in the villages south of Guildford. Richard is married with two daughters. Outside of work Richard is a member of Rotary and keen (if not very good) at playing both tennis and golf when time permits. And thankfully he's a very busy man…!

Sophie Major

Sophie started her sales career initially in fashion retail and secured her first position in Estate Agency in 2014. Since then, she has successfully sold properties in all sectors of the market, not only in Guildford and the surrounding area, but also Weybridge and Esher. Sophie's aim is to ensure a high level of customer service is maintained throughout, enjoying the journey with both buyer and seller, from negotiating an offer all the way through to completion. Currently living in Guildford, you will regularly find Sophie in the gym or walking her puppy, Luna. Having lived in Florida during her childhood, she continues to enjoy travelling (anywhere hot!).

Stephen Batterbury

With 36 years' experience in the property industry starting in 1987, Steve's career has taken him from Glasgow in Scotland, Southeast London and Kingston Upon Thames where he was a Director of a highly successful Independent Estate Agent. Steve has worked in both Sales and Lettings where he obtained his ARLA and NAEA memberships. Since 2009 he was worked in Guildford and has a very detailed knowledge of Guildford, Surrey Villages and Hills property market. Prior to joining Chantries and Pewleys, Steve achieved "Best Letting Agent" at the Surrey Property Awards in 2017 for his office. Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family. They have a dog, two ponies, three chickens and two guinea pigs however, still finds have time to keep up football skills, together with also playing squash. Towards the end of 2008 he spent three months as a volunteer in Sri Lanka coaching football and teaching English at three local underprivileged Schools.

Toni Humphreys

Toni spent the first 25 years of her career selling into the B2B IT consultancy sector. However, with a passion for selling, people and property, estate agency seemed like the perfect move and 12 years ago Toni joined Pewleys Estate Agents. Having lived in the Surrey Hills all her life, Toni enjoys utilising her local knowledge to help applicants in their search for their perfect home. Toni has a young daughter, lots of animals and a partner who is a chef, so a great deal of time spent eating fabulous food and drinking wine!
