Bolam Lee

Bolam Lee is a Partner with Serie Architects London. She graduated from the Architectural Association School of Architecture London with an AA Diploma and ARB/RIBA Part II in 2008. She completed her BSc. in Architectural Engineering in Hanyang University Seoul. Before joining Serie she worked in Space Group Seoul and was involved in architectural and masterplanning projects. Her experience covers various projects ranging across cultural, educational, residential and commercial sectors in Asia, the Middle-east and Europe. She has worked on several projects noted for their organisational and technical complexity - projects with multiple stakeholders, tight urban sites and existing heritage buildings. Many of the projects she worked on involved complex stakeholders and she is always keen on engaging with the clients to find thoughtful and elegant design solutions.

Christopher C M Lee

Christopher Lee is the co-founder and Principal of Serie Architects London, Mumbai and Singapore; and leads the design of Serie across all three offices. He is Arthur Rotch Design Critic in Architecture at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. He previously served as Design Critic at the GSD (2011-12). Prior to that he was the Director of the AA Projective Cities MPhil Programme (2010-12) and AA Diploma and Intermediate Unit Master (2002-09 ). Lee graduated with the AA Diploma (Honors) from the AA, received the RIBA President's Medal Commendation Award, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture and Urbanism from the Berlage Institute and TU Delft. In 2017 he was appointed as a London Mayor's Design Advocate to work on the Good Growth by Design programme addressing key challenges facing London's built environment.

Dharmesh Thakker

Dharmesh Thakker is an Associate at Serie Mumbai. He studied at D.Y. Patil College of Architecture, Mumbai in 2006 followed by postgraduate studies at the Bartlett School of Architecture, London in 2010. He is a registered architect with COA, India and has worked with Serie for 8 years. Dharmesh has been involved in Bluefrog, The Tote, Lodha School and sports masterplan projects. Currently he is leading a campus masterplan near Pune as well as a cultural centre in Mumbai. Before joining Serie in 2013, he worked with Ratan J. Batliboi Consultants where he worked on infrastructural, institutional and large-scale exhibition centre projects. Fluent in five languages Dharmesh is keenly interested in the social sciences, numismatics and photography. Many of his photographs are published internationally. He has been a visiting design tutor at architecture colleges in Mumbai.

Ian Lowrie

Ian Lowrie studied at the University of British Columbia, ETH Zürich, and the University of Glasgow. In 2015 he was a research resident at the Canadian Centre for Architecture and in 2016 a finalist for Canada's Prix de Rome in Architecture for Emerging Practitioners. Since joining Serie in 2018 Ian has led several projects and competitions in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Alongside practice he is a Teaching Associate with Chris Lee at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has previously worked in Vancouver and Brussels.

Kapil Gupta - Founder

Kapil Gupta is the co-founder of Serie Architects and Principal of Serie Mumbai. He graduated with honours from Sir JJ School of Architecture in 1996, Mumbai followed by postgraduate studies at the Architectural Association, London. He was a Director at the Urban Design Research Institute, Mumbai between 2003 and 2008, where he led India's first entry to the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2006. He has served as a visiting critic at numerous schools in India and been on several jury panels for competitions and design awards including Archiprix in 2010. He is currently the Charles Correa Design Chair at the Goa School of Architecture for 2020. Kapil leads and manages Serie's project portfolio in India with projects ranging across housing, commercial and institutional sectors. He is closely involved with the development of projects from inception to completion. He has written on the challenges of south Asian urbanisation and is currently involved with ecological and land regeneration strategies in India as a response to climate change. He is a Registered Architect with the Council of Architecture, India.

Martin Jameson

Martin Jameson is a Partner with Serie Architects London. An architect registered with the ARB, Martin has project managed multiple Serie projects including work in UK, Slovakia, India, Singapore and China. Projects experience includes the Singapore State Courts project, BMW London Olympic Pavilion, and the NUS School of Design. He has experience across the residential, education, business park and work space sectors. Since 2010 he has taught at the Architectural Association School of Architecture with Miraj Ahmed; he is now teaching a Masters Degree design studio. He has been a guest critic and lecturer at Cambridge and Nottingham universities. Before studying at the Architectural Association Martin was a Principal at management consultants Booz Allen Hamilton. He advised corporations on business strategy and worked on over 30 assignments in the USA, continental Europe, Japan and across Asia Pacific. He completed his MBA at IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland, and was awarded the Booz Allen full-fee scholarship. He was a domus scholar at Oxford University where he completed his BA(hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He completed five years training at the Architectural Assocation (AA) London and received his diploma with honours (distinction).

Santosh Thorat

Santosh Thorat is a Senior Associate at Serie, Mumbai. He graduated with Honours from Bharti Vidyapeeth's College of Architecture, Mumbai in 2000. Since joining Serie, he has been involved with architectural and master planning projects like the Bluefrog Acoustic Lounge in Mumbai, a large integrated township project in Pune and the Sustainable Urban Systems Design Competition in Japan (2003). He is currently heading a team working on a large masterplan, cultural center and mass housing project. Prior to joining Serie Mumbai, Santosh worked at P.G. Patki Architects and Upasani Design Cell and has considerable experience in the hospitality and leisure sector. He has participated in several regional and international design competitions including the Shinkenchiku Residential Design competition in 2005 and the M.G.A.H.V. University competition in 2003. He is a regular invited critic at architecture colleges in Mumbai.
