An Agriculture graduate of Aberdeen University, Dennis is the co-founder of sustainable seafood business, Aquascot, based in Ross-shire. The business moved to full employee ownership status in 2016.
He was one of a small group of industry actors who, in the late 1990s, saw the potential for an organisation like Scotland Food & Drink and has sat on its Board since 2007.
His current roles include chairing West Highland farming, energy and tourism business, Ardtornish; chairing the Rwandan organic agri-business Ikirezi and directing a vertically-integrated, Wick-based seaweed farming start-up business, New Wave. Dennis chaired the UK Soil Association, 2014-17. He was awarded an OBE in 2014 for contributions to economic development in the Highlands and Rwanda.
