BERWICK HILLS DENTAL - Key Persons
Ashley grew up in the Teesside area and qualified from the University of Central Lancashire in 2016, joining Berwick Hills Dental Practice later the same year. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and as she is keen to further her knowledge and skills regularly attends post-graduate training courses.
She is currently working towards Part 2 of her Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties from The Royal College of Surgeons. Ashley has completed extensive training in facial aesthetics and now offers a range of treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections & dermal fillers from the practice.
In her spare time Ashley enjoys reading a wide range of books, spending time with her two cocker spaniels & socialising.
Ian is an experienced dentist who has been with the practice since he graduated from Newcastle University in 1995. Ian recently became a partner and principal along with Kate and Jacqui in 2018.
Ian enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is always on hand to offer support for the difficult extraction. As with all the dentists at Berwick Hills he tries his utmost to provide a consistently high standard of dentistry in a gentle and compassionate manner.
Away from the surgery, Ian can be found in the hills and moors on his mountain bike - when he can get away from his hectic family life.
Jacqui has worked at Berwick Hills since graduating from Newcastle in 2003. Jacqui has always had an interest in working with nervous patients and helping them to gain confidence in the dental setting. In 2013 she completed a post graduate certificate in Teaching and Learning in Healthcare Practice from the University of Central Lancashire and passed with distinction. Jacqui uses this in her role as an Educational Supervisor for the Northern Deanery and is involved in training of graduate dentists. In 2018, along with Kate and Ian, Jacqui became a partner and principal dentist.
Away from the practice Jacqui enjoys spending time with her family, theatre trips and reading.
Joanne has worked at Berwick Hills Dental Practice since 1988. She first came to work as a dental nurse and became Practice Manager in 2005. Joanne especially enjoys the relationship she has built up with our patients over the years. Joanne is friendly and approachable, a very popular member of the team, and is happy to deal with any queries.
Kate qualified with Honours from Newcastle in 1998 and has worked at Berwick Hills since then. She is very committed to life-long learning and professional development. In 2010 Kate gained a post-graduate certificate in Teaching and Learning in Professional practice, and since then she has been an Educational Supervisor involved in the training of graduate dentists. In 2011 she completed a year-long course in Restorative dentistry to further her skills in this area and in 2014 she obtained a post-graduate certificate in Endodontology (root fillings) as this is an area of practice she enjoys. She finds it very rewarding helping the rest of the team achieve their full potential and has mentored many of the nurses as they gain further qualifications. Kate became a partner and principal in the practice in 2018 along with Ian and Jacqui.
When not at work, Kate enjoys keeping fit, reading and spending time in the great outdoors, especially going camping with her family.
