Adrian Schwab

Adrian joined Which? Legal in June 2017 as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. Adrian received his Bachelor in Law degree from the Holborn Law School in 2006. Previously Adrian was a qualified Trading Standards Officer for Buckinghamshire County Council before he transferred to the BCC Legal Department where he became a qualified lawyer. Before joining Which? Legal Adrian was the Litigation Manager for Thomson Airways (now TUI). Adrian also managed and advised at a LawWorks (the Law Society charity) pro bono clinic for 13 years in Edmonton. In 2015 he was awarded the title of Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year 2015. Adrian advises on all aspects of travel and consumer law, as well as tenancy, traffic law, civil litigation and neighbour disputes.

Anabel Hoult - CEO

Anabel Hoult joined Which? as chief executive in October 2018, with experience spanning a range of sectors including retail, charity, consumer services and fintech. Prior to working at Which? Anabel spent more than 12 years working within the commercial sector, most notably as managing director of Services at Carphone Warehouse. She was also chief operating officer of Save the Children, where she delivered improved strategic focus, operational performance and financial growth.

Anna Bateson

Anna Bateson is chief executive of Josh Wood Colour. Prior to this Anna spent 4 years at the Guardian where she was chief customer officer and latterly interim chief executive. Anna has had a long and varied career in media and marketing having spent 7 years at Google and YouTube, with 3 years running global consumer marketing out of their San Francisco head quarters. Prior to joining Google Anna led brand and viewer marketing at ITV, and before that was vice president of marketing at MTV Networks. Anna is a board member of the charities Scottish Ballet and Doc Society, and the visual AI company CreativeX. Anna was appointed to the Which? Limited Board in February 2021.

Ben Rossor

Ben joined Which? Legal in 2015 as a wills and probate specialist. Ben trained and qualified in private practice and now advises on a range of legal issues, including estate administration and lasting powers of attorney. He is also qualified to practice in Scotland and is able to offer advice to our members on Scottish issues.

Brendan Donohue

Brendan joined Which? Legal in 2018 and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. Brendan has over 15 years of experience advising on all aspects of employment law, having previously worked in private practice, also advising employers, he is able to draw on his insight from both perspectives when helping Which? Legal members tackle their issues. Bringing his clear and pragmatic approach to every situation, Brendan guides members through their options including, where appropriate, exit strategies. Where the employment relationship has ended, or is coming to an end, Brendan can help achieve the appropriate terms of departure through our settlement agreement service.

Catherine Cain

Catherine qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and joined Which? Legal in September 2018. Catherine previously worked in private practice, specialising in litigation and dispute resolution, she has extensive experience of court procedure and mediation, having advised both individuals and large corporate entities. Catherine advises on consumer law and loves being able to give members the advice they need so they can resolve their disputes, she finds it very rewarding receiving feedback from members who have achieved a great result with our help.

Duncan Snook

Duncan joined Which? Legal as an employment law specialist in May 2018. He has over 10 years of experience as an employment solicitor in private practice, advising employees and employers on a wide range of issues. During this time, Duncan has provided pro bono advice to members of the public through the Manchester Employment Rights Advice Line and (more recently) the Avon and Bristol Law Centre. He is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA). Duncan advises our members on any issues they have arising from their employment or its termination, enabling them to make their own informed decisions to resolve their disputes as swiftly and as effectively as possible.

Ian Hudson

Ian Hudson is executive director and managing director Consumer Publishing at Bloomsbury Publishing plc. Before joining Bloomsbury he was chief executive of publisher Dorling Kindersley and previously chief executive of Penguin Random House International. For 12 years Ian was a member of the Supervisory Board of international media group Bertelsmann and he is a former president of the UK Publishers Association. Ian trained to become a qualified accountant (FCMA) at British Rail before moving into publishing and media where, over 25 years, he has held a range of leadership roles with particular focus on content development, international markets, digital transformation and business turnarounds. Ian was appointed to the Which? Limited Board in November 2015 and is Chair of the Group Audit and Risk Committee.

Jacob Mitchell

Jacob joined Which? Legal in August 2019 as a legal adviser, focusing on consumer law. Jacob graduated from Northumbria University in 2017 with a Masters in Law alongside the Legal Practice Course which he completed in conjunction with his university studies. Previously Jacob had experience working in conveyancing as well as household and commercial recoveries for property damage. He enjoys providing consumers with the information and confidence to gain positive outcomes when they face difficult consumer issues.

James Attew

Prior to joining Which? Legal in September 2018, James advised in relation to consumer, commercial and property disputes at various firms in the South of England since qualifying as a solicitor in 2012. James advises in all aspects of consumer law and is particularly experienced in residential landlord and tenant matters.

James Buchan TEP

James qualified as a Solicitor in 2009 and manages our Wills & Probate advice team. Before joining Which in 2018, James worked in-house with Coutts Bank. James also has experience working for solicitors firms, as well as Co-operative Legal Services. James specialises in trusts and taxation as well as all other areas of Private Client work, and is also a qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. James has significant experience in helping and advising families and individuals, at what can be a very emotional and/or confusing time, in order to guide them to right the outcome for them. It is important that our members are provided with practical and accurate advice, which enables them to either help themselves, or seek the right kind of support that they need.

Jon Moore

Over a 20-year career, Jon has built and scaled high growth product teams across multiple different consumer verticals, including communications (Skype, MSFT), media (Guardian, BBC) and high marketplaces. Jon was most recently Chief Product Officer at Trainline, helping to guide the business to one of London's most valuable flotations of 2019. He has since been appointed a member of Silicon Valley Product Group, as their European-based partner. Jon was appointed to the Which? Limited Board in February 2020.

Judy Gibbons - Chairman

Judy Gibbons, chair of the board, is a non-executive director on the board of Capri Holdings Limited, deputy chair of Somerset House Trust, a trustee of Nesta and The House of Illustration. She was previously a non-executive director of Hammerson, Virgin Money Giving and Guardian Media Group. Judy has more than 30 years' experience in digital technology as corporate vice-president at Microsoft and in leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard, Apple and Accel Partners. Judy joined the board in April 2017 and became chair in June 2017.

Julie Harris

Julie Harris is chief executive of Comparison Technologies, a comparison and switching company. She was previously chief executive of Upper Street Events, specialising in consumer-focused events, and a director of The Association of Event Organisers. Prior to that Julie was group managing director of Immediate Media Company and chief executive of the global insight, intelligence and analytics business WGSN. Julie has more than 25 years' experience in the print and digital environment, publishing market-leading print and online brands and building regional and global digital information businesses. She was appointed to the Which? Limited Board in September 2015.

Matthew Tribble

Matthew qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and joined Which? Legal in March 2019. Prior to joining Which? Legal he worked in varied legal roles from 2009 advising individuals, companies and insurance companies on issues of consumer, insurance, property damage, personal injury and aviation law as well as all aspects of litigation. Matthew now enjoys using this industry experience to advise our members about their legal rights.

Paul Handford

With over 20 years of varied legal experience, Paul now specialises in private client work, which includes drawing up wills, deeds of trust, lasting powers of attorney and pre-nuptial agreements. He advises on care home fees, severing joint tenancies, inheritance tax and estate planning, and applying for probate or letters of administration. Paul is also experienced in administering estates for the executor or administrator, and applications to act as a deputy in the Court of Protection.

Peter Litchman

Peter qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and joined Which? Legal as a legal adviser in January 2007. He advises on all aspects of consumer law, tenancy issues and neighbour disputes. Before joining Which? Legal, Peter worked for many years in a variety of legal roles within the insurance sector. Peter finds the most satisfying part of working for Which? Legal is helping members get a good result.

Ross Crapnell

Sanchia Pereira

Sanchia joined Which? Legal in September 2018 and is a qualified solicitor. Sanchia has worked in private practice, specialising in criminal litigation. She has worked as a law reporter, taught law and has a Masters in International Human Rights. Sanchia enjoys empowering consumers with their legal rights to achieve the results they deserve.

Sarah Henley

Sarah trained and worked in private practice in Bristol before joining Which? Legal as a qualified solicitor in January 2018. Sarah provides advice to members on Wills, estate administration and Powers of Attorney.
