Andrew Sellars

Andrew is involved in a number of audits and is a vital cog in the accounts team. Andrew is obsessed with cricket and yachts. He also enjoys attending concerts and musical events.

Andy Harrison

Andy joined Chavereys in 2017 and is involved with bookkeeping, payroll and company administration. In his spare time, Andy enjoys travelling to watch tennis and rugby, both in the UK and France.

Anthony Keates

Anthony joined the Chavereys team in 2010 having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a general practice Kent firm in 2004 after graduating from the University of Wales with a degree in Geography. He is currently studying to become a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He has embraced the firm's ethos that, in order to provide a great service, it is essential to specialise in our sector. Despite not coming from a farming background he has developed a fascination with agriculture, particularly in horticulture and dairy, helping to provide accounting, taxation and strategic advice to some of the largest businesses of this type in the South East.

Ben Wilkinson

Ben provides clients with a combination of practical agricultural accounting advice, tax planning, VAT and personal tax advice. Having grown up on his family's farm in Kent, returning during school and university years to assist with harvest and drilling, Ben has practical experience in agriculture. Joining Chavereys in 1999 after obtaining a 2:1 honours degree in Agriculture from Reading University, Ben qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002, was made an associate in 2005 and became a partner in 2011. Ben is a committee member of the Kent Institute of Agricultural Management. Ben manages the affairs of many farming clients, both corporate and non-corporate, including those of a grain storage cooperative, a fruit producer organisation and the audit of a public interest assurance company. Ben remains actively involved with his family's arable farm.

Bryony Hope

Bryony joined Chavereys in 2012, gaining her ATT qualification in 2015. Bryony is involved in all areas of taxation and payroll within the firm. Bryony is from a farming family and outside of work enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Chris Gaze

Chris joined Chavereys in 2020 and has nearly twenty years' experience of working in practice. Chris is mainly involved in accounts preparation and outsourced finance. Outside of work Chris enjoys spending time with family and is a general sports fan.

Clare Vinson

Clare is the Director of Tax at Chavereys. Clare is a Chartered Tax Adviser with significant experience in many aspects of Personal and Corporate Taxation.She is a past chairman of the Kent branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. In her spare time Clare enjoys swimming, running, squash and horse riding. She also shoots small bore and air rifle for Kent.

Daniel Wells

Daniel joined Chavereys in late 2014. Daniel is a Chartered Tax Adviser, who specialises in most aspects of taxation. Outside of work, Daniel enjoys a number of sports and spending time with friends and family.

Iain Morris

Iain qualified with KPMG working first in their Kent office with local owner managed businesses and thereafter with KPMG London on large corporate transactions and restructures. Iain subsequently joined the BBC in various roles, most recently as Group Finance Manager for BBC Worldwide, the commercial and overseas arm of the BBC. Iain joined Chavereys in 2007 and has completed a large number of corporate and non-corporate transactions for farming and rural businesses. Iain provides financial consultancy and tax advice to clients who range from small farming partnerships to some of the largest rural businesses in the UK. He is experienced in working with solicitors and bankers to ensure clients get the deal they are after with a minimal amount of fuss. Iain has particular expertise in the renewables sector and regularly works with international Solar and Anaerobic Digestion plant developers, providing tax advice and assisting with raising finance. He also works with landlords who are transacting with PV, AD or Turbine developers using both his renewables knowledge and his understanding of Agricultural Sector taxes to ensure a beneficial outcome for the landlord.

James Alldridge

James joined Chavereys in early 2014 and has over fifteen years experience working in practice. He is mainly involved in accounts preparation and audit work. Outside of work, James is a keen sportsman and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Jenny Watts

Jenny is a prize winning Chartered Tax Adviser and a qualified Trust and Estate practitioner. She specialises in most aspects of taxation. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two children.

Jonathan Brand

Jonathan joined Chavereys in 2017, having gained a 2:1 honours degree in Economics from the University of Exeter. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2021 and is primarily involved in accounts work. Outside of work, Jonathan is a keen sports fan and plays football as a goalkeeper on a regular basis. He was part of the successful Chavereys team that won the Caseware Cup football tournament in 2018.

Karen Blackiston

Karen has a varied portfolio of clients and advises on all aspects of their affairs. Karen's experience includes: • estate and business succession planning • business cessations and partitions • tax efficient strategies for dealing with development land • trust creation, administration and cessation • business refinancing Karen is authorised by the ICAEW to conduct non-contentious probate work, and controls Chavereys' provision of probate and deceased estate administration services. Karen has a degree in Biochemistry with Management from Imperial College, London and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, having been a prize winner in the paper on Taxation of Trusts and Estates. Alongside her work at Chavereys, Karen is a trustee of The East Malling Trust a charity which supports horticultural research. Karen is also a trustee of Canterbury Oast Trust, a charity which provides accommodation and learning opportunities to adults with learning disabilities across Kent.

Keira Wigley

Keira joined Chavereys in 2011 having gained a 2:1 honours degree in Natural Sciences from Durham University. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2015 and is involved in all aspects of practice. Outside of work Keira enjoys rowing and looking after her horses.

Lee Dicks

Lee joined Chavereys in 2009 as a graduate, having gained a 2:1 honours degree in Economics from Loughborough University. Since then he has gone on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant and a tax technician. Lee is involved in all aspects of practice. Outside of work he enjoys football, skiing and going to the gym.

Martyn Crawley

Martyn specialises in Capital Tax Planning specifically for farming businesses with land and property. Martyn is recognised as one of the leading advisers in the rural sector. His depth and breadth of knowledge is unrivalled and he advises some of the leading rural businesses in England. Martyn is renowned for his blunt advice and ability to find a solution where one does not seemingly exist. He regularly lectures on taxation matters specific to the rural sector.

Nick Holmes

Nick is a farmer's son from Lincolnshire. He qualified with Chavereys and then worked for KPMG in London and later Orange Telecommunications in London and Paris. Nick looks after a number of the largest farming businesses in the country and many significant landed estates. His client base predominantly covers Southern and Eastern England and he operates across all industry sectors.

Nicole Collins

Nicole joined Chavereys in 2018 and works in the Tax team dealing with personal, business and trust taxation matters on a day to day basis. Nicole is currently studying for her CTA qualification focusing on Inheritance Tax and Trusts. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Richard Hopper

A law graduate, Richard trained in a non-specialist firm in Ashford gaining a wide experience of a variety of commercial businesses and not for profit organisations before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1996. In 2008 he became a Fellow of the ICAEW. In keeping with his family farming background he has a "hands on" practical approach to work. Within Chavereys he has, in particular, been engaged in dissolving and simplifying redundant mutual companies and groups, the restructuring and sale of businesses and providing accounting, audit and taxation services to rural businesses and rurally focused charities. Richard is married with three children.

Richard Piper

Robin Cleisham

Robin joined Chavereys in 2017 having gained 10 years experience in the accounting profession. He has worked for similar sized firms in Kent and also a large worldwide firm of accountants. Robin's experience is varied and has ranged from working with sole traders through to listed companies. This experience allows him to provide proactive advice regardless of the business area involved. Robin has a strong background in audit and takes care of some of the firm's larger clients. Having worked across a wide range of sectors, Robin understands that a tailored approach is required to ensure that each individual client's needs are met and that audits are performed efficiently. As a Chartered Accountant, Robin is responsible for providing advice on a range of business and tax matters. In addition, his auditing background allows him to advise on improving systems and controls which, in turn, can help achieve greater efficiency and profits. Outside of work, Robin is a very keen sports fan and enjoys both watching and participating in a range of sports. He thoroughly enjoys coaching at a local children's football club on a weekly basis.

Sam Blight

Sam graduated from Kent at Canterbury University with a 1st in BioDiversity, Conservation and Management. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007 and is involved in all aspects of practice. Sam is in a local choir and enjoys dancing and culture in her spare time.

Steph Prior

Steph has an HND in Agriculture from Writtle College and qualified as ACCA in 2000. She is an active partner in her husband's farming business. Steph worked for Grant Thornton for more than 10 years before joining the Chavereys Cambridge office in 2007. She prepares the accounts and tax returns for a wide range of farmers both in East Anglia and in the South East.

Steve Terry - CIO

Steve joined Chavereys in April 2019 having spent the last 20 years working in the fruit industry specialising in Finance, IT, Supermarket EDI/ASN, warehouse, pack house, QC, logistics, stock control, financial and operational control/reporting and implementation of BI solutions. Having gained a 2:1 honours degree from Loughborough in Accountancy & Financial Management in 1985, during his subsequent training with one small regional and two large international practices he worked on a wide range of audit clients from sole traders to listed companies as well as undertaking accounts preparation work for entertainment celebrities. Prior to leaving practice in 1992 for industry, he spent some time working in insolvency and corporate reconstruction. Soon after leaving practice, Steve held a Finance Director position with a plc during which time he was involved in financial and operational systems implementations together with a significant corporate acquisition, after which he managed and implemented the nationwide post acquisition integration process. Steve has a wealth of practical and commercial experience gained across a wide range of industries and has extensive strategic and hands-on experience undertaking project scoping, planning, management and implementation across financial, operational and IT business segments. Outside of work, Steve is a keen gardener and DIY enthusiast.

Tom Short

Tom joined Chavereys in 2021 having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2019 with another Kent based firm. Tom is primarily involved in accounts and audit work. Outside of work, Tom enjoys playing rugby for Canterbury Rugby Club, as well as shooting and other outdoor pursuits.

Will Brandreth

Job Titles:

Will leads Chavereys consultancy services on net zero and natural capital. He holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College and has previously worked on the development of a voluntary carbon offsetting programme in Malawi and natural capital investments in Eastern Europe. With Chavereys clients he works on greenhouse gas assessments, net zero planning, and the quantification and commercialisation of natural capital. Outside of work he is a keen musician and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
