Cathie Seville

I qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and since then have specialised in family and children law. I am an experienced court advocate. I became a credited member of the Law Society Children Panel in 2009. I have since 2009 represented children and parents in public law proceedings, this is when the State intervenes in family life due to safeguarding or welfare concerns. I have a keen interest in safeguarding. I believe that all children have the right to live free from physical, emotional, sexual and psychological harm. Schools play a vital role in the jigsaw that is national safeguarding. Teachers are often the first professionals to become aware of concerns, and on the front line of protecting and supporting children. I have been a Governor at Haughton St Giles Primary Academy since 2014, I am currently Chair of Governors at Haughton as well as the Safeguarding and Looked After Child link Governor. I joined the governing body of Blessed William Howard in 2023 and have also assumed the role of Safeguarding link governor. I look forward to working with the Creative Learning Partnership Trust and helping to monitor and maintain already high safeguarding practices.
