All patients have an initial psychiatric assessment at which point a screening will be done for ADHD and Dr Dhar will advise on whether the evidence supports moving into a comprehensive full assessment according to standard treatment protocols. At the ADHD assessment a full evaluation of ADHD symptoms, the impact on functioning and and the patients developmental history are assessed. Any additional medical or psychological psychiatric issues will also be screened for and if need be investigated further prior to commencement of any treatment. If the diagnosis of ADHD has been made a treatment formulation and plan will be discussed with the patient that is multidisciplinary and focuses on improving functioning and symptoms.
