Adam Hayden - CMO

Adam Hayden was named chief marketing officer at Exactech in September 2020. Prior to joining Exactech, Hayden held various marketing, sales management, engineering and leadership roles for more than 20 years, primarily at orthopaedic companies. Recently, he served as senior vice president of Sales and Marketing at Conformis with responsibility for global sales and marketing, product management, reimbursement, market access, corporate communications and medical education. Prior to his role at Conformis, Hayden held various senior marketing positions at Smith & Nephew and DePuy Orthopaedics, which is now DePuy Synthes. Hayden received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan. In addition, Hayden served as a Captain in the United States Army.

Bruce Thompson

Bruce Thompson was named senior vice president of International Sales for Exactech in January 2020. He joined the company in 2004 and has served in many leadership capacities, including senior vice president, General Manager - Biologics Division, business unit leader of the company's former spine division and most recently senior vice president of strategic initiatives. Prior to Exactech, Bruce spent 22 years with Smith & Nephew in its Orthopaedic Division. During that time, he held various positions, including Vice President - International Sales, Vice President - Product Planning and Launch, Vice President, General Manager - Spine Division, Group Director of Trauma Manufacturing, Director of Materials Management, as well as various product and sales management positions. Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and a Master of Business Administration at the University of Memphis.

Chris Roche

  • Vice President of Extremities
Chris Roche was named Sr. Vice President of Extremities at Exactech in July 2021. He joined the company in 2003 and has designed and developed numerous medical devices since that time, including the Equinoxe® Platform Shoulder System, the fastest-growing shoulder arthroplasty system in the world since 2004. Roche received a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Mercer University, master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and master's in business administration from the University of Florida. He has authored more than 100 manuscripts, nine book chapters and one ASTM testing standard, in addition to presenting more than 250 posters/podiums across the world. He is also listed as an inventor on more than 10 issued US patents and applications.

Darin Johnson - President

Darin Johnson was named president at Exactech in January 2020. He joined Exactech in 2002 and has held progressively challenging and elevated marketing positions, including leading the Equinoxe® Platform Shoulder System, the fastest-growing shoulder arthroplasty system in the world since 2004. Johnson has built and led cross-functional, global teams of orthopaedic surgeons, product managers, engineers and sales professionals. Prior to joining Exactech, he spent five years in the investment banking industry. Johnson received a bachelor's degree from Brown University and studied Economics at Oxford University.

David W. Petty

David served as Exactech's President and Chief Executive Officer until 2020. He was executive vice president of sales and marketing from February 2000 until December 2007, and served as a member of the Leadership Team, which oversees and directs the company's operations. Since he joined the company in 1988, he was employed in successive capacities in the areas of operations, sales and marketing. He served as Vice President of Operations from April 1991 until April 1993 and Vice President of Marketing from 1993 until 2000. David received his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1988 and completed The Executive Program of the Darden School of Business in 1999.

Diana Nole

Diana is executive vice president and general manager of Nuance Communications' Healthcare division, focused on improving the overall physician-patient experience through cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology applications. She has dual degrees in Computer Science and Math from the State University of New York at Potsdam and earned her MBA from the University of Rochester's Simon School. In addition to her role with Exactech, Diana is currently the Chair of the Board of Trustees of St. John Fisher College, their first female Chair, and a former Board Director and Chair of the Audit committee of the life sciences company, Clinical Ink.

Donna H. Edwards

Donna Edwards has served as the company's General Counsel since 2010 and was named Senior Vice President of Legal in January 2020. She joined Exactech in 2001 and has served in various leadership roles, including corporate attorney, interim compliance officer and vice-president of Legal. Previously, she served in the company's Regulatory Affairs group. Edwards received a Bachelor of Science from Duke University and a J.D. from the University of Alabama

Dr. Sharat Kusuma

Dr. Sharat Kusuma was named Chief Strategy Officer & Chief Medical Officer at Exactech in May 2022 and is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic hip and knee surgeon. He joined the company in December 2018 to serve as the company's medical director and lead the advanced surgical technologies business. Prior to Exactech, Kusuma was a senior engagement manager for the global consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, where he led projects for multiple Fortune 500 medical device and pharmaceutical clients. Most recently, Kusuma was a senior member of Apple's health team at their world headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., where he led health projects and collaboration with Zimmer Biomet and other companies. Prior to embarking on his career as physician business leader, he was the clinical and research director for OhioHealth, a health system based in Columbus, Ohio. In this capacity, he led the large total joint replacement services at Grant Medical Center, including managing an active clinical practice of more than 400 surgeries a year. Kusuma studied medicine and business at Vanderbilt University and completed orthopaedic surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Rush University Medical Center and Queens Medical Centre in the United Kingdom.

Gary J. Miller

Dr. Miller co-founded Exactech in 1985 with orthopaedic surgeon Bill Petty, MD, and his wife Betty Petty. He served as the company's Innovation leader since its inception and continues in an advisory role today, following his October 2021 retirement and transition to Emeritus status. Miller received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Florida (UF), a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering (Biomechanics) from UF. Gary is a UF Distinguished Alumnus and served as associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and director of Research and Biomechanics at the UF College of Medicine from July 1986 until August 1996. He also served as an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Aerospace, Mechanics and Engineering Sciences at UF from 1995 until 2010. Miller is a member of many professional societies including the Orthopaedic Research Society, the Society for Biomaterials, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He currently serves on the Board of the Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention and UF's Wertheim College of Engineering Dean's Advisory Board, the external advisory boards for UF's J. Crayton Pruitt Department of Biomedical Engineering, and the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, where he is appointed as courtesy professor.

Gwendolyn Bingham

Gwendolyn is a retired three-star Lieutenant General in the United States Army. Throughout her 38-year military career, she served in a myriad of staff and command positions culminating in her role as Department of the Army Chief of Staff for Installation Management (The Pentagon) from 2016 through her retirement in 2019. Throughout her 20 years of senior executive leadership experience, Gwendolyn has served in complex logistics and supply chain management, strategic planning, resource management, environmental and energy matters, and talent management.

Jeffrey R. Binder - CEO, Chairman

Jeff Binder was named CEO of Exactech in March 2022. He is a 30-year veteran of the medical device and diagnostic industry and previously served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Biomet Inc. from February 2007 until June 2015. Jeff's previous positions included a stint as Senior Vice President of Diagnostic Operations of Abbott Laboratories from January 2006 through February 2007. Prior to that he served as President of Abbott Spine from June 2003 until January 2006, and was President and CEO of Spinal Concepts from 2000 until Spinal Concepts was acquired by Abbott Laboratories in June 2003. Jeff holds a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from Yale University and a master's degree in public affairs from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs.

Jeremy Nelson

Jeremy Nelson was named vice president of Operations and Supply Chain at Exactech in January 2021. He most recently held the position of director of manufacturing engineering. Prior to joining Exactech, Nelson spent 16 years leading global engineering, operations, and supply chain teams for large orthopaedic and medical device companies, including serving as the director of global engineering at Ferno-Washington EMS, NPD program manager for thoracic products at Biomet and development engineer for the Realize Gastric Band at Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a Johnson & Johnson Company. Before that, he was responsible for developing the Beijing, China manufacturing engineering team at Smith & Nephew. Nelson received a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master of Business Management from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

John Schilling

Prior to joining TPG in 2011, John managed Sales and Marketing for the U.S. pharmaceutical business at Abbott and was a Partner at McKinsey & Company. John received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke, a Master's in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins where he was a Bozzelli Scholar, and an M.D. from the University of Chicago where he received the Joseph A. Capps Award for the most outstanding student in clinical medicine. Thereafter, John conducted his residency training in surgery at Johns Hopkins. While at TPG, John has played leadership roles on TPG's investments in Adare Pharmaceuticals, Aptalis, Beaver Visitec International, EnvisionRx, Immucor, and Par Pharmaceutical.

Karen Golz

Prior to board service, Karen was a senior leader and global vice chair of Ernst & Young, where she led the global professional practice and independence groups for many years. In addition to her service with Exactech, she is a member of the board and audit committee of Analog Devices, Inc., a semiconductor company. Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with Highest Honors and was named a 2019 Most Influential Corporate Director by Women Inc. magazine in 2020.

Kendall Garrison

Kendall serves on the Board of Directors of Exactech and Beaver Visitec International and has also been involved in TPG's investments in Immucor, Surgical Care Affiliates and Sabre Holdings. Prior to joining TPG in 2008, Kendall worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in its investment banking division. Kendall received a BBA with Honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Laurent Angibaud

Laurent Angibaud was named vice president of Advanced Surgical Technologies Development at Exactech in January 2020. He joined the company in 2004 to design and develop numerous medical devices, including the Optetrak®, Optetrak Logic® and Truliant® total knee systems, as well as the company's flagship technology, ExactechGPS® guided personalized surgery. He has served in various leadership roles in the Engineering and Development over the years. He has been listed as an inventors on more than 150 patent applications worldwide. Also, he has authored numerous manuscripts and regularly presents his developments at scientific conferences across the world. Angibaud received a degree in mechanical engineering from the National School of Engineers of Tarbes (ENIT, France).

Stacey Fedorka - CIO

Stacey Fedorka was named chief information officer at Exactech in January 2020. Prior to joining Exactech, Fedorka held executive management positions in four global, multi-billion-dollar corporations, responsible for leading digital business transformations and technology innovations aimed at driving competitive advantage and profitable growth. Recently, she served as vice president of information technology at AFL and ERIKS in the telecom manufacturing, telecom services, industrial manufacturing and wholesale distribution industries. Within Ansaldo STS USA, Fedorka led one of the company's three business units in addition to serving as CIO. In recognition of her business acumen, leadership style and innovative approach in the deployment of information technology, Fedorka was named Pittsburgh "CIO of the Year" in 2017 and 2008 by the Pittsburgh Technology Council and Greater Pittsburgh CIO Council. She has served on numerous advisory boards and is a frequently requested speaker and panelist at CIO summits, events and conferences across the country. Fedorka earned a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, she holds multiple certificates in executive leadership.
