Ahmed is an audit partner. Ahmed's client base comprises a mixture of private sector corporate and entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses. He is also the partner in charge of the firm's public sector work relating to contract work to the Auditor General of South Africa. He also consults with clients, attends to tax matters and is involved in certain special assignment audit work and has assisted public sector clients with various accounting matters relating to IFRS and GRAP.
Ahmed had served as a director of the Thutuka Education Uplifment Fund and had also served as a member of SAICA's Eastern Region Council. He is still serving on the Accountancy Profession Transformation and Education Committee (APTEC) in the Eastern Region.
Ahmed was a bursary student who served his traineeship with the firm from 1999 to March 2002. On completion of his articles, he was appointed an Audit Supervisor and was promoted to the position of Audit Manager in July 2002. He then served a year as a manager with KPMG in London, UK in their "Middle Market Division", assisting them with the transition from UK GAAP to IFRS. On returning to South Africa in September 2005 he was appointed a partner at Grant Thornton.

Allan Heynen started his career at BDO in 1986. He completed his articles and qualified as a CA (SA) in 1990. In 1991 Allan completed his ILPA exams and was admitted as a member of the institute (now known as the Financial Planning Institute - FPI).
In 1991 Allan was seconded to BDO Binder Hamlyn in London where he worked for 6 months. On his return to SA, Allan joined the SA Revenue Services where he spent two years in lieu of the then National Service. During this time Allan was instrumental in assisting with the implementation of the new VAT Act, conducting seminars and assisting the public with law interpretation. In his second year with SARS he was seconded to the Finance Minister's Tax Advisory committee where he served as secretary to the Minister's Tax Advisory Committee.
In 1993 Allan rejoined BDO and was admitted as tax partner in the Pretoria office. Allan's keen interest in investment and financial planning matters led him to establishing the financial planning division within BDO in 1995. In 2004 the financial planning practices of BDO in Johannesburg and Pretoria were merged and Allan was appointed as head of this new company, a position he still holds today.
In addition to managing the operations of BDO Wealth Advisers (Pty) Ltd, Allan is responsible for managing relationships with high net worth clients. This includes all aspects of financial planning (Wills, trust planning and services, client cash management, tax planning and investments).

Alun Rich is a director of Statucor a company within the BDO Group that specialises in providing corporate governance, compliance and company secretarial services to its clients.
A specialist in King IV and the Companies Act, Alun has a particular interest in working with companies that are seeking a listing or that have just recently been listed. It is Alun's belief that in order for a board to successfully implement its strategy sound governance processes need to be in place. Alun helps boards achieve this by implementing best practice through practical governance structures and mechanisms.
Responsible for Statucor's governance services at our Cape Town and Durban offices, Alun personally serves as designated company secretary for several listed and large unlisted companies, where he is closely involved in applying sound corporate governance principles and instilling a culture of best-practice.
With well over 20 years in the profession Alun is well equipped to assist in any governance related matter.

Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor with over 30 years' experience in external audit assurance. He has extensive experience in property and investment entities as well as information technology. Before joining BDO, Andrew was a partner with Moore Stephens MWM Inc.

Annemari is a Director in the Forensic Services Department at BDO and leads a team that makes a pivotal contribution through our National Risk Advisory Service to all our business sectors. She joined BDO in 2018 with the objective to establish a professional forensics team that could serve the Southern African market. Her team at BDO, with the support of BDO International, provides a comprehensive, integrated suite of Forensic Services, that specialise in fraud investigations, anti-corruption compliance, forensic technology services and financial reporting disputes.
