Charles F. Bowers, III - Founder

A native of New Brighton, Pennsylvania, Mr. Bowers graduated from Columbia College, receiving a B.A. Degree in 1962. He received his law degree, cum laude, from the Columbia University School of Law in 1965 and in that year returned to Beaver County, Pennsylvania to establish a trial practice with the well-known trial lawyer, James B. Ceris. From 1965 to 1991, Ceris and Bowers maintained a personal injury and criminal defense litigation practice, trying cases in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, Mercer and Washington Counties, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. As an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Mr. Bowers has been a member of the House of Delegates for several terms and a member of the Board of Governors, as well as a member of various committees and sections. Locally, he is a past president of the Beaver County Bar and has chaired or served on several committees. In 1991, with James Ross, he founded what has become Bowers, Ross and Fawcett, a law firm that focuses its practice on personal injury and criminal defense cases. For more than four decades, Mr. Bowers has been active in the fight to protect the injured, the consumer and the civil justice system. He is an active member of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association where he has held numerous positions and offices. Mr. Bowers has been conferred the status of Senior Counsel of the American College of Barristers and has played an active role in the American Association for Justice. He has also been appointed as a civil mediator in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. In the criminal field, Mr. Bowers is an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a lecturer on various aspects of the handling of personal injury cases and the defense of criminal cases. Mr. Bowers has received professional recognition by attaining an "AV" rating through the National Lawyers Rating Service of Martindale Hubbell. Charles F. Bowers III, a partner in the firm, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was raised in Patterson Heights and Edgeworth, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York with a B.A. degree in History. He earned his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law where he was recognized for excellence in professional services and participation on the Shalom Trial Moot Court Board. While attending law school, Mr. Bowers worked for the Allegheny District Attorney's Office in the Appellate and Pretrial Divisions. After graduating from law school, Mr. Bowers was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in November 1990. He joined the law firm that is now Bowers & Fawcett in 1990. Mr. Bowers was also admitted in 1990 to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Bowers has practiced in Beaver, Allegheny, Butler, Washington and Lawrence Counties as well as before the Pennsylvania Superior Court and Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court. Active in the Beaver County Bar Association, Mr. Bowers is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Bowers has served on the Board of Governors for the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and as President of the Association. Mr. Bowers is married to Aileen and they have one child, Charlie. They live in Center Township, Beaver County. Attorney Charles F. Bowers, III, joined our firm in 1990 and Kenneth G. Fawcett in 1995. Both have established strong track records of service to our personal injury and criminal defense clients. Kenneth G. Fawcett

Kenneth G. Fawcett has been a partner in the firm since 2001. With 20 years legal experience, he focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense and municipal law. After graduating from law school, Mr. Fawcett joined the law firm, known as Bowers and Ross, in 1994. Mr. Fawcett has practiced in Beaver, Allegheny, Butler, Washington and Westmoreland Counties, and before the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Fawcett earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science, summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and his Juris Doctor, cum laude from the University's School of Law. While in law school, he served as a Head Notes and Comments Editor for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Mr. Fawcett is a member of the Beaver County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers. He has been actively involved in the High School Mock Trial program, serving as the District Coordinator for Beaver, Butler and Lawrence Counties as well as the Regional Coordinator, overseeing the competition for an eleven county area of Northwestern Pennsylvania. In the winter of 2000, Mr. Fawcett was appointed and served on the Governor's Judicial Advisory Commission, which assisted in identifying qualified attorneys for consideration by the Governor of Pennsylvania for appointment to the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County. Mr. Fawcett has been a speaker at numerous seminars on auto law and civil litigation. Ken Fawcett, born and raised in Enon Valley, Pennsylvania, currently lives in Cranberry Township, Butler County with his wife and two children. Kenneth G. Sherri R. Hurst

Sherri R. Hurst joined the firm of Bowers & Fawcett, LLC in 2014. She focuses her practice in the areas of family law, criminal defense, adoptions, wills and estates and personal injury. After graduating from law school, Ms. Hurst interned for Judge Thomas W. Renwand at the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board prior to serving as a Law Clerk for President Judge John D. McBride of the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County from 2009 through 2011. In 2012, Ms. Hurst opened her own law practice focusing in family law, criminal defense and wills and estate law. Ms. Hurst earned her Bachelor of Science in political science from Slippery Rock University and her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. Ms. Hurst is extensively involved with the Beaver County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She is past president of the Beaver County Young Lawyers Division and current zone 10 Co-Chair for the Pennsylvania Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. She has been actively involved with the High School Mock Trial program, serving on the executive committee. She is currently on the Board of Habitat for Humanity of Beaver County. Sherri R. Hurst was born and raised in Chippewa Township, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in Beaver, Pennsylvania with her Fiancé.
