One of the most pressing global health problems is a mismatch between the health R&D that is needed and that which is undertaken. Grand Challenges Europe (GCE) aims to bridge this gap by providing grants and hybrid financing for promising innovative early stage solutions. Especially for ideas addressing unmet global health needs in low income countries in Africa, Asia and South America. We believe in bringing together frugal innovation, entrepreneurial people and partnerships to scale-up. Grand Challenges Europe has just started on this journey and will work together with existing Grand Challenges in other regions and all other relevant parties to tackle the biggest global challenges. We are currently engaging the ecosystem of stakeholders in Europe consisting of academics, corporate organisations, social ventures, foundations, funders, governments and NGOs...
