HEI is organized as a public foundation. We are a non-profit; 100% of our funding comes from donations from the corporations, endowments and foundations, families and people who want to make a difference... We collaborate with hospitals, governments, universities, and community stakeholders to increase public awareness of the importance of patient advocacy. We hope that making patient advocacy freely available to those in need will improve health equity... HEI helps educate patients in health advocacy so they can better advocate for themselves. HEI connects patients with pro bono advocacy resources and provides grants to advocates who offer advocacy to patients in need-so that advocacy is available to all patients regardless of ability to pay.
