April Morris

April provides outpatient therapy for adolescents and adults age 16 and over. She uses a multi-faceted trauma-informed therapy approach including a variety of therapy techniques. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Dakota.

Christy Wilkie

Christy Wilkie provides outpatient therapy for children and adolescents ages 5-20. Wilkie combines her extensive clinical expertise with a belief in kids-even the toughest kids-with unique ability to find and develop their strengths. Wilkie says, "I love working with kids because they have so much potential and so much skill, and they don't know how to funnel it. I am persistent. I don't give up on kids or their families." Wilkie earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and her master's degree in Social Work from Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis, IN.

Dr. Wayne Martinsen

Dr. Martinsen is a board-certified psychiatrist working with Dakota Family Services. He provides professional services to youth in the residential programs at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch and maintains an outpatient practice encompassing a wide age range. Originally from rural North Dakota, Dr. Martinsen received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota and completed residency at the University of North Dakota. He also has a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska, Omaha.

Falan Johnson

Falan provides therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults ages 7-25. She typically practices CBT but also implements other forms of therapy with clients, such as DBT and motivational interviewing. Falan earned her master's degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota. She believes it is her job to be the ideal therapist for any client by meeting them where they're at and providing services specific to their needs.

Jessie Mertz

Jessie provides therapy for children and adolescents. She believes that change and growth come from positive relationships and new experiences. During each session, she works to ensure each child and family member feels heard, valued, and strengthened to overcome the challenges and obstacles they face.

Lucas Mitzel

Lucas provides outpatient therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. He typically practices CBT but also implements other forms of therapy. Lucas earned his Master of Science in Social Work from the University of North Dakota.

Sandy Richter

Sandy provides therapy for children and adolescents ages 6-17, and adults 18 and older who are experiencing life stressors, stage of life changes, or who have complex behavioral health issues. She works hard to be an affirming therapist and inclusive of individuals with developmental or gender identity issues. She utilizes affirming practice techniques, compassion therapy techniques, psychoeducation, trauma-informed care for adults, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and adolescents, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques for all ages.

Sue Herzog

Sue Herzog is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with 38 years of experience in the field of social work. She earned a Bachelor in Social Work from the University of Mary in 1978 and obtained her Master Degree of Social Work from the University of North Dakota in 1999. Sue worked as a clinical social worker for the past for 28 years, at the West Central Human Service Center, Dakota Family Services and Resiliency Clinical Services. She was also a full-time professor of Social Work at Minot State University on the BSC campus, for the past 10 years.
