MORRIS LAB

The Morris Lab is a stem cell and developmental biology laboratory based in the Departments of Genetics, and Developmental Biology at Washington University in St. Louis, USA. Our research focuses on dissecting and manipulating the gene regulatory networks that define cell identity, applying this knowledge to engineer clinically relevant cell types. We also develop new single-cell technologies to map cell lineage and identity in parallel to better understand how cell identity can be reprogrammed... The lab is in the Center of Regenerative Medicine in the Couch Research Building, situated on the medical campus of Washington University in Saint Louis, USA. We are members of both the Department of Genetics and the Department of Developmental Biology. The Principal Investigator of the lab, Dr. Samantha Morris, is originally from the United Kingdom. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge, where she remained to investigate early mammalian development in the lab of Magdalena..
