Born in Wrocław, she earned the degree of Medical Doctor in 1979 and since then has been working in the Oncological Surgery Department where she was trained by Dr Aleksy Woźniewski and Dr Maria Pawelec-Maleszko. She completed her specialist internships in the Oncology Institute and subsequently earned the 2nd degree of specialisation in oncological surgery in 1986. She has particularly focused on the treatment of head and neck cancers as well as mammary gland and colon cancers. In her leisure time she skies and windsurfs.
