Jonathan W. Marotta, Esq., is a life long Passaic County resident. He holds a bachelor degree in legal studies from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida and a Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. During law school he served as an intern for the Law Office of Afflitto, Raimondi and Afflitto, Esqs. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Marotta served a one-year appointment as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Ralph L. DeLuccia in the Passaic County Superior Court.
Mr. Marotta was admitted to practice law in 2007 and is a member of the Passaic County Bar Association and New Jersey Bar Association. He is licensed to practice and actively does so in both New Jersey State and Federal District Courts. He practices and litigates in various areas of law, including but not limited to, criminal and traffic law, civil litigation on behalf of both defendants and plaintiffs, family and matrimonial law, landlord tenant law and chancery actions. In addition to those areas of law Mr. Marotta handles all real estate transactions and estate planning for the firm. Lastly, for the past ten years Mr. Marotta has represented Passaic County patients that have been civilly committed in the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Marotta's knowledge in these various areas of law assists him in representing his clients throughout their lives as the firm takes an aggressive approach in keeping clients protected and informed, as they are part of the Sciro & Marotta family.
He currently lives in Wayne, New Jersey with his family. He enjoys spending time with his family, sporting events, movies, fishing and boating.
John W. Marotta, Esq. was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He graduated High School from DePaul Catholic in Wayne, New Jersey. Upon graduating he received an athletic scholarship to play football as a quarterback at Arizona State University. He is a graduate of Montclair Statue University and Seton Hall School of Law. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1981. Mr. Marotta is a member of the Passaic County Bar Association and the New Jersey Bar Association. Currently, he is the managing partner of the firm.
Mr. Marotta is a trial attorney who specializes in all areas of personal injury litigation such as auto accidents, slip and fall accidents, work-site accidents, and medical malpractice. Mr. Marotta also handles criminal and matrimonial litigation and has appeared in various New Jersey Superior Courts and the Federal Courts of the District of New Jersey.
Through his career Mr. Marotta has obtained multi-million dollar cash awards against many insurance companies on behalf his clientele and has had numerous trials in all his areas of practice.
In his free time, he enjoys relaxing, dining out and spending time with his family. He is an avid sport fishermen and sport enthusiast.
