Bradford E. Adatto decided to become a lawyer during sixth-grade Career Day, when he promised to represent his best friend, a future doctor. A few decades and many miles later, he started his own law firm that focused on representing health care and corporate clients. And yes, his best friend from sixth grade is among them.
Brad's background is in regulatory, transactional, and securities law. Having worked in health care law his entire career, he has an in-depth knowledge of the "do's and don'ts" of this heavily regulated industry. As the son of a medical doctor and grandson of a medical doctor and dentist, Brad has the health care industry in his blood. He enjoys helping his clients build successful businesses by showing them how to avoid legal problems, create new opportunities, develop new partnerships, and form new entities.
Brad has worked with physicians, physician groups, and other medical service providers in developing ambulatory surgical centers, in-office and freestanding ancillary service facilities, and other medical joint ventures. He regularly counsels clients with respect to federal and state health care regulations that impact investments, transactions, and contract terms, including Medicare fraud and abuse, anti-trust, anti-kickback, anti-referral, and private securities laws. His extensive transactional experience includes preparing and negotiating corporate and commercial arrangements such as certificates of formation, bylaws, shareholder agreements, asset purchase agreements, physician employment agreements, recruitment agreements, and medical intellectual property mergers and acquisitions. He is also experienced in advising clients in private securities offerings, including preparing and reviewing private placement memorandum and private disclosure statements in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Brad enjoys reading, running, and spending time with his family. He is active in the health care community, and often speaks at conferences, associations, and educational events. He is also actively involved in various community and philanthropic associations, and services as a Board Member of Bird's Eye View Project and Carry The Load, charitable organizations founded to help first responders, veterans and their beneficiaries.
As a quintessential type A, people person, Brooklyn was drawn to the challenges inherit with a career as an attorney. After attending SMU Dedman School of Law, Brooklyn jumped in feet first to practicing at ByrdAdatto. Brooklyn has found her calling working on state and federal regulatory and compliance matters, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and sophisticated corporate issues. Beyond the challenging work of practicing business and health care law, Brooklyn is in her element interacting with clients.
Brooklyn is also passionate about guiding clerks through ByrdAdatto's law clerk program in her role as the Director of the Law Clerk Program. She sees great value in connecting with law students and being a mentor to help them shape and fine-tune the skills necessary to succeed in their legal careers.
Outside of the office, Brooklyn enjoys cooking, reading, Pilates, and spending time with family and friends.
Inspired by the way her dad was able to analytically solve problems and help his clients, Emily M. Reese followed in her dad's footsteps to become an attorney. With a goal of pursuing a career in law, Emily discovered an interest in business during her undergrad years when studying for a business degree at the University of Texas in Austin. Her fascination with business grew while working at Nothing Bundt Cakes during her school years. Emily, passionate about baking, realized the power of working in a business she is passionate about and learned on the front lines about the importance of a great customer experience. At ByrdAdatto, Emily now applies her passion for the ever-changing nature of health care law to help ByrdAdatto's clients.
Emily continues to enjoy baking, Pilates, creating digital art, long-distance running, and going on long walks with her dogs.

With a financial background from working at a Fortune 500 investment, Grace Lee started her legal career in complex commercial and business litigation.
With a financial background from working at a Fortune 500 investment bank after college and a law degree from SMU Dedman School of Law, Grace started her legal career in complex commercial and business litigation. Her practice included representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial disputes, contract disputes, employment issues, and other business litigation matters. Grace now utilizes her broad range of skills to work with clients in resolving their regulatory and business matters in the health care industry.
Outside of work, Grace enjoys traveling, brunching with friends on the weekends, and being the best fur mom she can be to her fur baby, Lana.
Greg Cardenas has been providing legal services in the health care industry for over 25 years. His practice is concentrated in the health care sector.
Greg Cardenas has been providing legal services in the health care industry for over 25 years, but becoming a lawyer was not his original career plan. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in finance, Greg went to work in the budget and planning office of Texas Governor William Clements. It was there that Greg saw how experienced attorneys analyzed problems, developed reasoned solutions, and persuaded others to support their solutions. Greg went to law school to develop those skills, and he uses them to serve clients on a full spectrum of corporate, transactional, and regulatory matters.
Greg's practice is transactional in nature, and is concentrated in the healthcare sector. Greg works with physicians, hospitals, management and development companies, diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare providers, and investors and investment companies that work with healthcare companies. He has assisted clients on a variety of matters including entity formation and capitalization; corporate governance and governing document preparation and negotiation; joint venture negotiation and regulatory structuring; business combinations, and purchases and sales of equity and assets; compliance program development and implementation; and civil and criminal fraud and abuse issues arising under state and federal health care fraud and abuse laws. Greg has served as the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel of both a publicly traded company that owned and operated an integrated health care delivery system, and a national supply chain services company that served the non-acute health care industry. Greg regularly acts as outside legal counsel and board advisor to small and medium sized companies.
Outside the office, Greg enjoys golf and spending time with his wife Anna and their four daughters. He has served on, or consults with, several charitable and non-profit boards, including the Notre Dame School of Dallas, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, Ursuline Academy, and Stairs, Inc.

With a business degree in Management Information Systems, Jay D. Reyero not only understands business but knows what it takes to solve sophisticated business issues. Creating solutions to complex problems is one thing. Communicating the problem and the solution in a digestible manner is another. Jay has mastered the art of communication, leaving clients with both an understanding of their business risk and the path to solution.
Jay has become a thought leader and national voice on health care regulatory compliance. He routinely speaks throughout the country on the various business and legal issues health care businesses face. He has been recognized in U.S. News - Best Lawyers® Best Lawyers in America list (2022-2024 editions), Texas Rising Stars, published by Thompson Reuters, for multiple years (2017-2021), a Best Lawyer in Dallas by D Magazine (2019).
While he is enthusiastic and passionate about business, law, and how the two intersect, Jay's balance is found at home with his wife and three daughters. He is also an avid runner, having completed several marathons and half marathons and enjoys long runs along White Rock Lake.
Jay E. Minton carries a three dimensional view of the legal risks for a business. Jay began his legal career working for the Fifth Court of Appeals in Dallas, assisting judges in shaping the law through legal research and drafting court opinions. Jay then added perspective during his time as a litigator, seeing the real life experiences that businesses face when engaged in a contract or business dispute. Now, Jay combines his experiences from inside the court system and as a litigator to help clients navigate the various business and health care risks confronting a business.
Outside of work, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children, growing his hobby board game collection, and playing ice hockey
Jeffrey J. Segal was a neurosurgeon in private practice before beginning the second phase of his career as an attorney in the health care field.
As a neurosurgeon turned serial entrepreneur, Jeffrey J. Segal has literally been in both business and medicine. Jeff was a neurosurgeon in private practice before beginning the second phase of his career as a serial entrepreneur in the healthcare field. Jeff then founded or co-founded four separate healthcare startups. Jeff lives and breathes healthcare and understands it viscerally.
Jeff was perfectly happy practicing as a neurosurgeon. In 1996, his wife gave birth to twins, and at age 3 his son Josh was diagnosed with autism and epilepsy. Jeff took a year off to focus on Josh, intending to go back to practicing neurosurgery. In that year, he became convinced that a certain pharmaceutical compound might help Josh, and that compound was sitting on a shelf at the University of North Carolina. Jeff approached the scientists who created this drug, and collectively they founded a biotechnology company to move their compounds from "bench to bed." Jeff never went back to the practice of neurosurgery. His son is now 24, and has improved by leaps and bounds. Jeff never misses the opportunity when sharing this powerful story to give a shout out to his wife, Shelley, and Josh's twin sister, Jordan, who have been great "partners" for this unexpected ride in life.
Next, Jeff founded Medical Justice which touched on so many medico-legal issues. While Jeff was working with many talented attorneys, it became clear that better understanding the law and becoming an attorney would allow him to be more effective in running Medical Justice. Jeff's philosophy is simple - solve a client's problem. Law is just one tool in the toolkit to achieve this goal.
Jeff also runs eMerit, which helps doctors control their online reputation through patient feedback. While Jeff remains busy running Medical Justice and eMerit, he also needed a home for his law practice. Clients of ByrdAdatto, Medical Justice and eMerit now have, using Jeff's words, more tools in the toolkit. Outside of work, Jeff loves being outdoors. He is an avid road cyclist, scuba diver, and climber. He also enjoys reading history and spending time with his wife and children.
Joi M. Moseley started her legal career on Capitol Hill, where she assisted two Members of Congress with legislative policy work in health care, judiciary, and foreign affairs. After a year and a half in Washington, DC, Joi joined a labor and employment law firm where she sharpened her skills in building client relationships and analyzing complex issues. Now working for ByrdAdatto, Joi assists clients with a wide array of business and health care legal issues that clients face.
Joi enjoys tennis, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys traveling internationally with her family.
Driven by a passion for problem-solving, Kenneth quickly found himself drawn to business and health care law. His work at the SMU Dedman School of Law Civil Legal Clinic and the Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid shaped his desire to work first-hand with clients in impactful ways. A Corporate Counsel Externship Program at SMU further broadened his skill set and attention to corporate and regulatory matters by working with a hospitality corporation spanning multiple states and international territories.
Now, Kenneth applies his knowledge to forge unique relationships with ByrdAdatto's clients, offering support and becoming an integral part of their business decisions. His ability to operate as a legal ally, participating in pivotal business decisions ranging from employment law matters to regulatory challenges, makes Kenneth a valuable asset to ByrdAdatto's clients and facilitates a true intersection of the legal and business aspects of health care law.
Outside of work, Kenneth enjoys live music, traveling, cooking, exploring new restaurants, mountain biking, and all things sports.
Madison M. White routinely assists clients with a variety of business matters, primarily in the health care industry. Madison regularly advises clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions, as well as a range of health care legal and regulatory compliance issues.
Madison combines her past health care litigation experience, regulatory and business expertise, and relationship skills to meet the critical business and legal needs of her clients.
Outside of the office, Madison enjoys hanging out with friends, traveling, and taking her dog Roxy on walks.
While serving as a Captain in the Army JAG Corps in the 1980's, Michael L. Silhol was tasked with providing legal guidance to Darnall Army Medical Center at Ft. Cavazos, Texas. While this was a bit outside his normal duties as a JAG officer, Michael soon found a calling in helping those who help others. After completing his service to his country, Michael continued working with health care providers, specializing in health law.
Michael has since served as in-house counsel to the nation's largest hospital operator, and well as General Counsel for a publicly traded diagnostic imaging company and General Counsel at Parkland Hospital, one of the largest public and academic medical centers in the country.
Michael has written and spoken extensively on health care legal issues for over 25 years. He is board certified in Health Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. In recognition of his many years of service and leadership in health law, Michael was named a Fellow of the American Health Law Association (AHLA) in 2017. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer since 2014, a Best Lawyer by D Magazine, and was named top Dallas corporate counsel by the Dallas Business Journal in 2009.
Michael served on the AHLA Board of Directors from 2007 - 2013. Michael also served on the Board of Governors of the Federation of American Hospitals, one of Washington, DC's most respected and influential health policy and advocacy organizations. From 1994 to 2001, he was on the Board of Directors of AFS - USA, Inc., a leader in intercultural learning that offers international exchange programs in more than 40 countries around the world.

Patrick O'Brien focuses on state and federal health care laws and regulations, and legislative developments primarily for the aesthetic industry.
Patrick has always had a fascination with understanding how things work. Whether it is working on cars or becoming an expert in board game rules. This fascination led him to focus his studies on economics at Southwestern University where after graduation he worked in margin trading with a major investment brokerage firm. It was here Patrick first experienced when a person does not understand "how things work" they can be adversely affected. Patrick saw how a client's decisions today will affect their results tomorrow. This led him to proactively navigate situations to give clients the best possible outcome. This problem solving combined with his desire to see "how things work" inspired his return to school and pursuit of a law degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
Bringing together his passion of breaking issues down to understand how they work and desire to help others understand complex issues. Patrick's practice focuses on state and federal health care laws and regulations, and legislative developments in health care primarily for the aesthetic industry. Patrick also provides educational and informational resources to the cosmetic and aesthetic industry by navigating all state's regulatory landscape and assisting American Med Spa Association ("AmSpa") in its legislative efforts. Patrick also serves as the General Counsel for ByrdAdatto and AmSpa.
When he is not in the office Patrick enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and loyal hound dog.
After graduating from Oklahoma State, an intrinsic sense of curiosity and a keen eye for details led Sam Pondrom to work as an accountant for two Engineering-News Record top 40 construction firms. It was here where he honed his ability to analyze complex problems and craft clear, concise answers. Utilizing these skills, Sam works in partnership with clients addressing their complex business and health care regulatory issues in the most simple, straightforward way.
Sam lectures to doctors and other providers throughout the country at medical conferences on a myriad of issues dealing with the business of medicine. Sam also regularly teaches and trains other attorneys in both accredited and non-accredited continuing education courses on health care law.
Outside of the office, Sam enjoys cooking, playing basketball, running, watching Oklahoma State football and Dallas Mavericks basketball, traveling, and trying new restaurants. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
With an undergraduate degree in business and a career focused on the business of a business, Vincent Becraft leverages his background to focus on mergers and acquisitions, and private investment offerings and regulatory filings. Outside the office, Vincent enjoys spending time with his golden retriever Louie and runs on the trails around Dallas, including the Katy Trail and White Rock Lake. Vincent also enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and cheering for his favorite college sports teams.
