Christopher "Beau" Van Geffen

Christopher "Beau" Van Geffen joined the firm in 2006. Beau began his career with the firm in research, reviewing all account reviews and asset allocation models for our clients. Beau's responsibilities include the handling all our research driven correspondence as well as product research and asset allocation development. Beau's passion within the firm is understanding and communicating the research required to service the conservative investor. Beau also handles all of the business retirement plans and is the go to guy for technical questions in this area. Beau is currently meeting with new and existing clients. Plans are for Beau to assume all compliance and Branch manager responsibilities in the coming year.

Cory Van Geffen

Cory Van Geffen joined the firm in 1998 and has had the title of financial advisor for the past 20 years. Cory's responsible in guiding the new client from the introduction stage to the investment implementation stage and finally... Cory Van Geffen joined the firm in 1998 and has had the title of financial advisor for the past 21 years. Cory's responsible in guiding the new client from the introduction stage to the investment implementation stage and finally to the ongoing management of the client's financial life. Cory is passionate about client education and relationships. Cory believes that the investment industry spends too much time trying to sell people products and not enough time listening to what a client's concerns are. You will find Cory spending a lot of his client interaction time teaching about risk, how investments work, why one investment may fit better than another. After meeting with Cory it is not uncommon to hear a client talk about how much better they feel about investing and retirement. Cory then continues to meet with the client on a regular basis to keep up with changing objectives and market conditions. Cory received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Economics from the University of Southeastern Louisiana. He holds a series 7 & 63 securities license, and a Louisiana Life and Health Insurance License. Cory resides in Slidell with his wife Melissa, their two daughters, Karis and Farrah, and son Brady. Cory and his family attend Church of the King in Mandeville. In his free time Cory is Husband and Dad. In addition to coaching his son's travel soccer team he also enjoys anything competitive, playing golf, working out, playing guitar or heading off with his family in search of snow or sand.

Kim Canulette

Kim is our Client Service Manager. She has been with Van Geffen Wealth Strategies for the past 30 years. Kim has extensive Executive Administration Assistant and Client Service experience. In addition to ensuring that our new clients have a smooth transition into our firm, her responsibilities also include initiating all account paperwork, transfers, wires, IRA contributions, distributions, ordering checks, etc. Kim is the go to person for all of your account related needs and questions. Kim's responsibilities also include monitoring and managing all office flow. Kim is also our in house expert on all things Disney. When not working, odds are she could be found at the Disney park in Florida. To date approx. 10-12 visits. Kim holds a degree in Business Management form Southeastern University. She resides in Slidell with her husband Chris and their three sons Keith, Kyle, and Cole.

Nicholas Van Geffen

Nick joined the firm in 2013. The firm was fortunate when Nick decided to leave a career at State Farm insurance company to join the firm. As a member of the team at Van Geffen Group Nick is qualified to where many hats. When he is not... Nick joined the firm in 2013. The firm was fortunate when Nick decided to leave a promising career in the finance department of State Farm to join the firm. As a member of the team at Van Geffen Group Nick is qualified in many different areas of finance and insurance. When he is not meeting with clients Nick is often asked to help the firm in the areas of system efficiency. Nick has been instrumental in developing our customer contact system as well as working to insure the consistency of our client account reviews and market research. Nick is always questioning the company's various protocols with the eye on improving our clients experience with Van Geffen Group. Nick graduated from the university of New Orleans with a degree in business administration in 2005. Nick holds a Series 6 and Series 7 securities license with LPL Financial as well as a Life and Health insurance license. Nick currently meets with and services both new and existing clients and prides himself on listening to each clients specific needs and dreams in order to develop a personalized diversified financial strategy that fits them best. Nick resides in Slidell with his two daughters, Ava (age 10) and Aubrey (age 9). In his free time, Nick enjoys spending time with his daughters, reading, coaching soccer, golfing, and traveling.

Thomas Van Geffen

Thomas D. Van Geffen moved to Slidell in 1985 where he opened a branch office of a national NYSE firm. Within seven years Tom became a regional leader for the firm, leading 30+ offices in the Gulf Coast Region. In this role, Tom's responsibilities included identifying office locations from Slidell to Pensacola, FL., hiring advisors, and overseeing recruiting and training. In 1996, Tom decided to move his financial services practice to the independent side of the industry and the birth of Van Geffen Wealth Strategies followed. Today the team at the Van Geffen Group, an independent firm, serve their clients with four financial advisors. These advisors offer securities through LPLFinancial Services, Inc. member FINRA/SIPC. As a senior partner of the Van Geffen Group, Tom brings to the team an acute understanding of economics - past, present, and future - and the significance it plays when making investment decisions. He provides the macro economic direction for the firm as well as approving the implementation of various investment strategies. Tom spends much of his time engaged in the hands-on managing of our clients' assets. Spend five minutes with Tom and you immediately notice that he as a passion for teaching. Tom's clients say that he has a unique ability to explain investing and seeking to preserve wealth in terms that they can understand. Tom received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in accounting from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Tom holds series 7, 24, & 63 securities licenses with LPL Financial and a Louisiana Life and Health Insurance License. Tom is a native of Jennings Louisiana, but has resided in Slidell for the past 31 years. Tom spends his free time with his wife Becky, their five sons, four daughter in laws and their nine grandchildren. His main hobby is spoiling his grandchildren. His grandchildren have nic named him ,"the president of the land of yes". His daughter-in-laws say he is a 12 year old with a check book when he disappears with grandchildren. Tom qualified and ran the Boston Marathon, Marine Corp Marathon in Washington, DC along with the Mardi Gras Marathon in New Orleans. Tom's other hobbies have included over the years, flying his own plane, playing tennis on a USTA team (that won a National Championship), snow skiing with his family in the winter, and playing golf in the summer. Tom and his Wife Becky are also avid readers, from novels to business books. Tom and Becky are members of The Church of the King in Mandeville and often lead small bible study groups in their home.
