SHADY LANE BEES

Shady Lane Bees is a small, local Whidbey Island business interested in keeping and maintaining vibrant and healthy honey bees in a more sustainable way. Our activities with the bees revolve around serving the bees and allowing them to have the foods they thrive on - the honey they created from the nectar they gathered (their carbohydrate source) and pollen from a wide range of flowers (their protein source)... We sell raw, unfiltered, unheated honey in order to preserve as many benefits that honey can provide. We manage hives on northern Whidbey Island - allowing others to help the honey bee population and be a part of beekeeping operations without the expenses involved (we love our hosts). We also educate others on diverse pollination habitats, organic and pesticide free gardening and landscaping, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.
