Clare joined BWL as a Senior Bid Writer in 2021 and is a great asset to the team, providing bid writing and management services for our clients and delivering added value wherever possible. Her bidding experience includes working with Clients to win facilities management and building maintenance service contracts in a range of sectors including, local and central government, healthcare, commercial, higher education, and utilities.

David Ralph

Job Titles:

David joined BWL in 2022 and, as a Senior Bid Writer, is responsible for producing high-quality bid responses. This includes completing a detailed analysis of tender documentation, storyboarding responses using input from the Client, and writing responses to the highest possible standard every time. With a background in print journalism, David has worked in bids for over 4 years and delivered training, coaching and ongoing support for bid teams on procurement processes. In his role, David is focused on coordinating input from management, technical, and operational SMEs to source key information and produce high-quality bid responses that adhere to the requirements of the ITT and align with the evaluation criteria. His experience includes winning bids in healthcare, local and central government, commercial and the oil and gas sectors. Jonathan Boyce

Jonathan joined BWL in 2022 after working as a Bid Manager at a local building repair and maintenance specialist and a national M&E contractor. As a Senior Bid Writer, Jonathan is responsible for managing bids throughout the tendering process on behalf of our clients, ensuring that all requirements from the tender documentation are adhered to and that the client's strengths and win themes are incorporated within the bid responses effectively. Jonathan has 10 years' experience in bid writing and management and has a proven track record of working with management, technical, and operational teams to produce winning tender responses in local authorities, housing, healthcare, utilities, and commercial sectors. He has experience of managing teams of Bid Coordinators and Junior Estimators and undertaking various business development and capture planning activities that led to winning contracts with several UK and international blue-chip organisations. Joseph Luksza

Joe joined BWL in 2022 after a successful career working in bid teams at several large construction and M&E contractors. He has over 6 years' experience in writing and managing bids and a proven track record of winning bids in the facilities management, transport, infrastructure, and nuclear sectors. As a Senior Bid Writer, Joe works collaboratively with our Clients to understand their experience and operational processes and then produce tender responses that highlight their strengths in line with the tender requirements and evaluation criteria. He follows APMP practices for bid management and ensures bid responses are both compliant and responsive to customer requirements. Leading bid teams at previous companies, Joe has been instrumental in securing multi-million-pound contracts that align with strategic growth objectives. This has included the submission of high-profile tenders, including the HS2 enabling works prequalification, large refurbishment works at various pharmaceutical development centres, and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services in the nuclear sector.

Kevin Watts

Kevin is an experienced Bid Consultant with over ten years of experience managing all aspects of the bid process, from capture planning and bid/no-bid evaluations to response storyboarding and bid writing, design, editing, and contract mobilisation. Leading bids on behalf of BWL's clients, he is responsible for managing the bid process from start to finish, focusing on collaboration with client contacts and stakeholders to capture and develop responses and ensure the highest-quality responses are delivered. Kevin is process-driven and ambitious in his approach to producing evidence-based, high-quality bid responses. He focuses on building key themes throughout the bid that highlight our client's strengths, unique attributes, and service offerings. He has a sound understanding of procurement and tendering processes in both the public and private sectors. He has won bids in the utilities, infrastructure, nuclear, and construction sectors, including with the NHS, Ministry of Justice, Sellafield, Network Rail and National Highways. Lisa Reece

Lisa joined BWL in 2019 and has over 10 years' experience in bid writing and management. Her experience spans multiple sectors, including fire and security, highways, rail, telecommunications, and construction and maintenance. Having supported submissions from £300k to £2bn, she understands the differing requirements, risks and challenges that need to be managed for every bid. As a Senior Bid Consultant, Lisa is focused on working with Clients to successfully produce winning tender responses, using capture planning, storyboards, bid writing and design, and presentations in line with APMP best practice. Lisa is competent in seamlessly embedding herself into established bid teams to lead and support the development of engaging tender submissions. Her knowledge of ISO systems, CDM 2015 regulations, and transport and infrastructure sector-related procedures and standards allow her to interpret complex specifications and deliver compliant and high-scoring tender responses.

Michael Lee - CEO

Michael is the CEO of BWL Group and Managing Director of BWL Professional Bid Services. He is a seasoned and successful bid professional with a proven track record of developing, implementing, and managing innovative bid and tender solutions. Michael specialises in writing and managing bids underpinned by NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract and has a passion for bidding on contracts in sectors such as nuclear, power generation, power transmission, water, rail, and telecommunications. Michael has worked with clients such as Kier, Telent, Doosan Babcock, Lexia Solution Group, GB Rail freight, Deutsche Bahn, and Emcor. He has built his reputation on his ability to clearly articulate technical solutions and guide SMEs using best practice programme and project management. Michael's qualifications include a degree in Business Management, a Diploma in EU Public Procurement, and accreditation from the Association for Project Management (APM) as a Certified Project Management Associate and from the Association for Proposals Management Professionals (APMP) at Foundation Level. Peter Whysall

As a Bid Consultant with over 9 years experience, Peter is responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process for clients, including collaboration with subject matter experts for information capture, storyboarding, writing, reviewing, and graphic development. He also focuses on client relationship management, making sure that clients are provided with guidance and advice on APMP best practice and the public procurement regulations 2015. Peter has extensive bid writing and management experience, including in the transport, mechanical engineering, and compliance industries. He is well versed in bidding for contracts using NEC3/4 and NR4 contract terms, as well as public procurement partnerships (PPP) and design, build, finance and operate (DBFO) procurement models. Peter's successful career has been built on his considerable technical knowledge and experience in critical national infrastructure services, including Network Rail's Traction Power system, communications infrastructure for the Maritime and Coastguard agency, and the NRTS2 network that controls the UK's critical strategic road network for National Highways. He graduated in 2011 with a first-class honours degree from the University of Bath and has experience in financial, commercial, and operational teams across a range of industries. As Commercial Business Director, he is responsible for developing strong client relationships, managing the company's bid resources and delivering on the company's strategic objectives.
