Abel P. Ortiz II

Abel has been involved in the upstream oil and gas industry since 1993 and has worked as both a designer and an engineer for prestigious companies such as Mustang Engineering, L.P. and Aker Kvaerner, Inc, where he worked on unique projects such as the Adriatic LNG Terminal for ExxonMobil and the Mirage MinDoc3 Floating Drilling and Production Unit for ATP. Abel's experience in engineering and the oil and gas industry provides a unique combination of innovation, experience and perspective to serve his clients in the oil and gas, construction and engineering procurement construction and management industries. Abel also has a breadth of experience in mergers and acquisitions, international business transactions, contract negotiations and corporate and oil and gas matters. Abel graduated cum laude from Texas A&M at Galveston with a Bachelor of Science in Maritime Systems Engineering. During that time, he also served as a Captain with the Jamaica Beach Volunteer Fire Department. He earned his Juris Doctorate from St. Mary's University School of Law, where he served as an Editor of The Scholar and Dean for the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, The American Institute of Steel Construction, The Texas Young Lawyers Association and the Krewe of Maximillian and serves as a founding executive board member of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce's C-Crewe.

Magen Moore Ortiz

Magen's experience as Vice-President of Harbor Offshore Marine, Inc., which provides offshore vessel support services for the offshore shipping, mineral, oil and gas industries, presents a unique combination of practical business approach with special training in maritime, oil and gas and general commercial law. She has extensive experience with maritime transactions, including bareboat charter and master service agreements, regulatory compliance and vessel registrations and insurance review. She has worked with a range of businesses, from multinational corporations to privately held companies, drafting contracts, negotiating dispute resolutions, and a myriad of other commercial matters. Magen grew up on the water in Galveston, Texas. She earned degrees in Government and Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin while also working for State Representative Craig Eiland. Magen earned her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in Houston while working in the rigorous 24-hour-a-day / 365-day-a-year shipping and oil and gas industries. Magen is currently a member of the Offshore Marine Service Association, the Krewe of Maximillian,the Galveston County Bar Association, the Texas Young Lawyers Association, and currently serves as an Executive Board Member of the United Way of Galveston, and is a founding executive board member of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce's C-Crewe.
