SPARKLING ELEPHANT PROJECT

The Sparkling Elephant Project is brand new in its age as well as concept. Being founded in 2013 by Marlies Gabriel and suddenly being catapulted to a global scale with the current team of UWC Maastricht students, the project is still learning and growing very fast simultaneously. The concept on one hand may not seem completely new since many already manifest and are invested in elephant conservation and creating awareness, SEP is more than just a simple awareness campaign, it en-globes also building a large, life-size, elephant sculpture for raising a maximum of awareness not only when it's paraded but also constantly reminding all of the elephant's majesty... SEP's vision is to have a sensitized and informed society that acknowledges the invaluable role that elephants play within Tanzania's tourism industry, environment, development and heritage.
