Carol Callaway Dee is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and an associate professor of accounting. She served for one year as an academic fellow for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), conducting research on the economic effects of proposed auditing standards.
Dee's research focuses on auditing and forensic accounting. She has published in leading accounting journals, including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Current Issues in Auditing, Issues in Accounting Education, and Journal of Accounting and Public Policy. Dee is an associate editor for the Journal of Forensic Accounting Research.
Dee is co-author with Cindy Durtschi and Mary Mindak of the auditing casebook "Alpine Cupcakes Inc.: Audit Case Study." Her accounting education cases, "Return of the Tallahassee BeanCounters: A Case in Forensic Accounting" (with Durtschi) and "Grand Teton Candy Company: Connecting the Dots in a Fraud Case" (with Durtschi and Mindak) are used by faculty around the world. She is a recipient of the CU Denver Business School's Outstanding Tenure-Track Teacher of the Year Award.

Coming from a background in business and management, David Ruderman stresses the application of practical skills in his courses. These include critical thinking, effective communication, problem solving and team collaboration. He tailors his courses to challenge students, with the end goal of them becoming better employees, team members, and business leaders. He is demanding and has high expectations but is also laid back in his teaching style, is interactive, and works to make the learning experience fun and engaging. He looks to take on the roles of teacher, coach, and mentor.
In addition to teaching, Ruderman is the faculty adviser for the Business Student Ambassador Committee, a premiere student club within the Business School. In this role, he works to enhance the student experience and supervises student members as they participate in project management, fundraising, recruiting, and professional enrichment. Jian Yang is J.P. Morgan endowed chair and Research Director at J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities, discipline director/department chair of finance, and founding director of Center for China Financial Research at the University of Colorado Denver. He is also a Research Fellow of the National Institute of Financial Research at Tsinghua University in China, and previously held positions of visiting fellow at People's Bank of China and visiting scholar at St. Louis Fed. Prior to his joining CU Denver, he worked as an assistant professor/associate professor at Prairie View A&M University in Texas.
Yang is recognized as one of the most prolific authors in finance during the past 50 years based on core finance journal publications, and one of 15 commodities friendly professors in the world. He has published about 70 refereed journal articles on such journals as Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, and Journal of Banking and Finance.
