It is no secret that raising a child or supporting an individual with complex behavior can feel isolating and all-consuming. BEHCA was created to bridge that gap and allow input from more than one person to document different data throughout the day. Most importantly, it helps inform a data-driven hypothesis of what the behavior is communicating. Our team designed BEHCA knowing the importance of collaboration outside of isolation... BEHCA provides clarity on how to give support in a holistic way. We can shift the perspective by encouraging the support person to use data that sees beyond behavior. When we remove our immediate reaction and witness the person's process we begin to observe how they experience the world, most often uniquely different than those who support them... Data provides awareness. There is no ‘bad' behavior, rather a means to achieve a particular outcome.
