HANI'EL ML

Hani'el Mastriani-Levi is a saxophonist, composer, and educator currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Raised in Georgia, South Carolina, and Israel, he possesses a background that lends to an unusual diversity within his music. He works primarily in the sound medium, and is interested in cultivating empathy by examining the relationship between various extremities... Hani'el graduated from Georgia State University in 2022 with highest honors, receiving a BM in Jazz Studies. He studied primarily with pianist Kevin Bales and saxophonist David Sánchez. As part of the GSU Big Band and Honors Combo, he has had the opportunity to learn and perform with visiting artists such as Miguel Zenón, Sean Jones, Etienne Charles, Eric Alexander, Tierney Sutton, and Tom Scott. Hani'el is currently pursuing a MA in Jazz Studies at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.
