They separated from National in 1972 and, as a result Sterling Controls, Inc. was established. One of the first systems completed was a batching system for an agricultural fertilizer facility. Also, this batching system utilized continuous batching technology and was completed in the early 1970's. Process automation of feed mill and poultry processing facilities became a focus.
