COAST RUBBER

In 2017, Coast Rubber, a division of Traffix Devices Inc. received a grant from the Tire Incentive Program (TIP) administered by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), a branch of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The purpose of this grant program is to provide opportunities to divert waste tires from landfill disposal, prevent illegal dumping, and promote products made from recycled tires... At Coast Rubber we convert rubber into finished products by utilizing crumb rubber derived from California scrap tires. Waste tires are among the largest and most problematic sources of waste, due to the large volume produced and the fact that they contain a number of components that are environmentally hazardous. Our rubber recycling process uses vehicles tires that are no longer suitable due to wear... In 2018 Coast Rubber processed over 12.5 million pounds of recycled rubber, keeping millions of car and truck tires out of the landfills.
