In 1994, he became a licensed contractor building custom homes. He realized that the wait time for kitchen and bath products was taking too long. In 1998, the company opened up a solid surface fabricating shop and started producing countertops and shower surrounds . In 2009, The company became a certified Carolina Heartwood Cabinetry dealer. In 2018, Cabinet Store WNC opened its doors in Western North Carolina. In 2020, the company moved to Edenton, North Carolina.
