Aarti Gupta joined the Computer Science Department as a full professor in 2015. Her research interests are in formal verification of systems, program analysis, and automatic decision procedures for logics.
Before joining the department, she worked at NEC Labs America where she led a team in investigating new techniques for formal verification of software and hardware systems, contributing both to their foundations and to successful industrial deployment. The impact of this work was recognized through NEC Technology Commercialization Awards that she received in 2005, 2006 and 2012.
Professor Gupta received her Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University in 1994 after earning a master's degree in computer engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor's in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi. She has served as an Associate Editor for Formal Methods in System Design (since 2005) and for the ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems (2008-2012). She has served as program chair and on the steering committees of the International Conference on Computer Aided Verification (CAV) and the International Conference on Formal Methods in Computer Aided Design (FMCAD).

Adam Finkelstein joined the Department of Computer Science in 1997 as an assistant and then associate professor, and became a full professor in 2001. He is one of the organizers of the art of science exhibition at Princeton. He took a sabbatical during the 2010-11 academic year at the Adobe Creative Technologies Lab, where he was a visiting researcher; and in 2003-04 at Pixar Animation Studios, where he worked on lighting tools. Finkelstein earned his masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Washington. He studied physics and computer science at Swathmore College, and was then a software engineer at Tibco in the late 1980's. His awards include the NSF CAREER Award and an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, and he is a Fellow of the ACM.

Adji Bousso Dieng, expert in artificial intelligence, has been recognized by The Africa Report magazine as one of 10 African Scholars to Watch in 2025.
Adji Bousso Dieng wants to create artificial intelligence that can understand the mechanisms underlying complex systems and have a level of control over their behavior - work that could impact fields including science, health care and automated systems.
Alan Kaplan joined the teaching faculty in the Department of Computer Science in September 2014. His career spans academic research to industrial R&D to technology startup/entrepreneurship and he has over twenty years experience leading research and product development involving mobile software.
Dr. Kaplan primarily serves as one of the lead preceptors for COS 126. He also advises many independent work projects centered around the theme of random apps of kindness. In addition, he serves as a Wilson Fellow, advising incoming first-year BSEs and is an Athletic Fellow for the Princeton University Women's Track and Field team.
Prior to joining Princeton, he was the Chief Technology Officer for Drakontas, a software company that develops a mobile command, control and collaboration platform, called DragonForce, for law enforcement, public safety and first responder agencies.
Dr. Kaplan was formerly Department Head of Middleware and Software Technologies at the Panasonic Princeton Research Laboratory. Prior to Panasonic, he held faculty positions in computer science departments at Clemson University and Flinders University of South Australia. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a B.S. in Computer Science from Duke University.
Dr. Kaplan is an active volunteer in the IEEE. He currently serves on the Steering Committee for the IEEE Consumer Communications and Network Conference (IEEE CCNC).
Dr. Kaplan is passionate about recovery and rebuilding efforts in Puerto Rico. During the summers of 2018 and 2019, he led teams of Princeton undergraduates teaching a version of COS 126 at the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez and volunteering at rebuilding/recovery sites throughout the island.

Amit Levy is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department. He received his BSc in computer science and economics from the University of Washington in 2009, and his Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University in 2018.

Andrés Monroy-Hernández co-leads the Princeton HCI Lab, where he focuses on human-computer interaction and social computing. He is also an associated faculty at Princeton's Center for Information Technology and Policy, the Keller Center for Innovation, the DeCenter, the Program in Cognitive Science, and the Program in Latin American Studies. He also serves on the board of the non-profit Crisis Text Line. Before Princeton, he spent a decade in industry research labs, first in the leadership team of Microsoft Research's FUSE Labs and then at Snap Research, where he founded and managed the HCI Research team.
He has created technologies that help millions of people connect and collaborate in new ways, including MIT's Scratch, an online community for children to learn programming; Microsoft's Meeting Scheduler, a scheduling agent that uses hybrid AI; Significant Otter, a smartwatch app for couples to connect using biosignals; and Snapchat's Project IRL, a suite of playful and co-located augmented reality experiences.
His research has received best paper awards at CHI, CSCW, HCOMP, and ICWSM, and has been featured in The New York Times, CNN, Wired, BBC, and The Economist. Andrés was named one of the 35 Innovators under 35 by the MIT Technology Review magazine and one of the most influential Latinos in Tech by CNET. Andrés was the technical program co-chair for CSCW 2018 and Collective Intelligence 2019. He was an editor for CSCW from 2019 to 2022 and was a member of the CSCW steering committee until 2022.
His recent research focuses on public-interest technology platforms and social augmented reality experiences. Some of the systems his team is building include OpenDeli, an open-source federated protocol to enable locally-owned alternatives to mainstream food delivery platforms, and Capybara, a social AR app that aims to democratize AR by empowering children to express themselves through creating virtual characters.
Andrés Monroy-Hernández has been named one of four recipients of the Graduate Mentoring Awards by the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning and the Graduate School.
