This project would improve travel times for regional traffic, reduce the volume of regional traffic in downtown Yelm, help reduce the potential for collisions on Yelm Avenue and provide a new non-motorized route for cyclists and pedestrians. Phase 2 is proposed to have a shared-use path on one side of the proposed new section of the highway... Crews will build the three remaining miles of SR 510 between Cullens Road and 170th Street Southeast in Yelm. The new connection, like the previously built Phase 1, is proposed to be a two-lane highway with bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
