BORDER VETS - Key Persons
Alex spent 20 years working in retail before joining our team in 2021, and she has relished the opportunity to make the most of her passion for animals. She spends most of her free time with her rottweiler, Indy, who can occasionally be found at our reception desk!
Chloe joined us in 2021 and is one of the friendly voices you hear at the end of our phone lines. She loves getting to know our clients and patients, especially when puppy play is involved! She spends her weekends working at her family's ice cream business, but enjoys walking her dog, Lotti, and meeting up with friends in her free time.
Fiona has been part of our team for years and even owns one of the bricks from our original building! Her favourite part of her job is meeting the pets and clients that come through our doors. She previously played rugby for Melrose ladies, but gave it up to pursue horse riding. She is now the proud owner of a horse called Snoopy, who she enjoys riding in summer.
Originally from New Zealand, Jess worked in Northern Ireland before joining our team in 2020. She has not looked back since! In her own time, she enjoys exploring the local area with her partner and popping into local cafés for treats.
Jessica joined our team in 2018 and is a senior nurse and cat friendly advocate. She runs our nurse clinics and assists with animal care during procedures, and has a passion for dental work. In her spare time, she loves spoiling her rehomed Jack Russell terrier and riding her horse. She is never without an animal!
Jim qualified in 2005, and spent time working with buffalo in South Africa and vetting police sniffer dogs before joining our team in 2018. When he's not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and building things in his garden.
Olivia studied at Massey University and spent time working in New Zealand and Birmingham before joining our team. She especially loves surgery, and of course, puppy and kitten play time. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, running, reading and ticking new experiences off her to-do list!
Becca grew up always wanting to be a vet and achieved her dream when she graduated from University of Glasgow in 2015. After several years of adventuring in the south, she decided she missed the hills of Scotland too much and returned to her hometown in the Borders, joining our team in 2022. When not out having real adventures, she can be found getting lost in fictional ones.
Rebecca qualified in 2013 and has experience in equine and small animal nursing. She moved to Scotland in 2018 and fell in love with the place after spending time exploring the countryside.
Sarah joined us in 2018 and can usually be found greeting pets and clients at our Galashiels and Selkirk branches. She is also qualified to advise on parasite treatments. When she is not behind reception, she enjoys planning adventures with her family, seeing friends and going out and about with her daughter on sunny days.
