Alex Fitzgerald

Job Titles:
  • Project Engineer
Alex joined the Company in July 2014 and worked through his academic qualifications part time whilst working for the company and achieved his Masters degree in 2020. Since he joined the company he has been pivotal in the development of Plandescil AD plant progression, working closely with Olly and being the Lead Engineer on a number of Plants across the UK. Alex successfully managed to balance completing master degree part time and being the lead Engineer on 3 highly time constrained and very different AD plants. He is Civil3D trained and often trains the junior members of the staff in RC detailing and Earthworks modelling. His knowledge extends to completing complex S278 highway works and difficult waste water drainage schemes. His hard work and dedication has quickly seen Alex establish himself as a key member of the Plandescil team and is often referred to as the person the junior members aspire to follow in the footsteps of.

Ashley Briggs

Job Titles:
  • Managing Director & Director Structures
Ashley joined Plandescil in 2005 as a gap year student before undertaking a Masters in Civil Engineering at Loughborough University. Whilst at University, Ashley worked in his holidays increasing his knowledge before returning to work full-time. Ashley has an extensive knowledge including full design/renovation and Project Management of Historic and Listed Buildings, Structural Design and repair of Steel, Timber and Masonry Buildings, Structural Surveys, Reinforced Concrete Design and Industrial Developments. Ashley is extremely dedicated and can often be found working around the clock to maintain Client satisfaction.

Carl Jenkins

Job Titles:
  • Chartered Surveyor - Director Surveying
Carl has been with Plandescil since 1991, predominantly working as a Surveyor. Carl joined the Company and trained as an Engineering Technician whilst undertaking his qualifications part-time, he then progressed into the Surveying Department which he has expanded since its inception so that it is now a team of Civil Engineering Surveyors of varying levels of qualification. Carl also has extensive experience in legal issues such as Land Ownership and Boundary Disputes.

Catherine Winslow

Job Titles:
  • Admin Assistant
  • Member of the Admin Team
  • PA to Managing Director
Catherine most recently joined Plandescil in 2006 having had a previous spell with the Company before relocating for a career change. On her return she was employed as a PA to the Directors, helping them to organise their diaries and workloads. Now working alongside the Financial Director she organises the Company Vehicles, Staff Training, PPE and any Office Maintenance that is required as well as dealing with any other matters arising.

Chloe Durrant

Job Titles:
  • Technician
Chloe joined Plandescil in June 2018 having worked at a national leading Infrastructure Company where she carried out the role of a Trainee Civil Engineer, predominantly working on the Northern Distributor Road in Norwich. Since joining us Chloe has completed a HNC in civil engineering and is now enrolled on a Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship. Chloe mainly works on Residential Developments, Highways schemes and Drainage Designs and is experienced in the use of computer modelling programmes such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS and MicroDrainage Suite.

Chloe Spencer

Job Titles:
  • Environmental Consultant
Chloe joined Plandescil in 2017. and predominantly works on Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Designs, and SuDS Schemes. Chloe is experienced in the use of computer modelling programmes such as MicroDrainage Suite, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD which aid her with the various projects she works on.

Ian Parrott

Job Titles:
  • Senior Technician
Ian joined the Company in 1995 and began to work in an Admin Role, before becoming a member of the Surveying Team. More recently he has moved into a Senior Technician position working mainly on Residential Estates and Highway Projects. Ian has a wide range of experience and is able assist in a variety of situations.

Jacob Bush

Job Titles:
  • Technician
Jacob joined Plandescil as an apprentice in the summer of 2017 having completed his GCSE's. Jacob has completed a BTEC Level 3 in Construction & The Built Environment at City College Norwich. Following this, he is now enrolled at Nottingham Trent University on a BEng Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship, attending on a weekly day-release basis. In 2019 Jacob was awarded the Institution of Civil Engineers' (ICE) QUEST Scholarship. Jacob has gained experience in multiple departments during his time at Plandescil, particularly on large projects including Anaerobic Digestion Plants, infrastructure and planning projects as well as on-site work undertaking topographical and utility surveys. More recently, he has undertaken CAA training to become one of our drone pilots and has completed Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) training. Jacob is currently working in the structures department and training on Revit.

Jak Warner

Jak joined Plandescil in 2013 and trained as a Junior Technician, assisting with technical drawings on a variety of projects including renewable energy sites. In 2015, Jak moved into the surveying department on now undertakes Topographical Surveys for the Company. During his time at Plandescil, Jak has also completed his BTEC Level 3 and NVQ in Civil Engineering.

Jasmine Ayton

Job Titles:
  • Planning Coordinator
Jasmine joined Plandescil in 2014 as an Admin Assistant following the completion of her A-Levels and has since undertaken a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Enterprise. Jasmine now works across the company as a Planning Co-ordinator, preparing and managing the process of planning applications, producing documentation to support the applications and managing the planning process with external consultants and directly with local authority planners. She also works within the Project team helping with quality controlling various documentation and generally coordinating projects and the team, including workload and distribution of projects, and managing utilities connections applications. Jasmine also manages Plandescil's social media and is Personal Assistant to our Director Olly.

Jason Brook

Job Titles:
  • Structural Engineer
Jason joined Plandescil 2015 coming with predominantly site-based experience in his early career and then working in a local Design Office for a large Contractor. His experience includes Drainage, Highways on a Local and National scale, Bridge Engineering, Structural Engineering and alterations to Domestic and Industrial Buildings. Jason's experience of working in various roles across the Construction Industry means he brings a practical approach to his current position as a Structural Engineer. Jason also heads up the Company's CDM Polices and Document Control, keeping the staff briefed and up-to-date on their duties and responsibilities.

Joe Beales

Job Titles:
  • Senior Technician
Joe first joined the Company on work experience whilst still at school and continued to help during the summer and his school holidays. We employed Joe full-time on an apprenticeship, undertaking a BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering, which he completed and followed up with an HNC. Joe has worked within all the teams at Plandescil and is progressing quickly into an enthusiastic Technician. Joe's most recent area of interest is drones; he is quickly becoming the pilot of choice in the office since completing his CAA training. Joe's knowledge of point clouds and laser scans has given him an advancing role helping the Company progress in that area of business. Joe has shown a particular skillset in training and is often found helping introduce the junior staff members to AutoCAD and the processes around the programmes we use.

Joe Doggett

Job Titles:
  • Apprentice Technician
Joe joined Plandescil in September 2019 following completion of his A Levels and has enrolled on a part-time BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering. Joe has a keen interest in civils which was inspired by several work experience placements with other civil engineering companies. Joe supports our engineers and technicians with drawing work and surveying. Joe is currently working as a surveyor out in the field learning the different techniques of Land Surveying, Utility Surveying, Drone Surveys and GPR surveys.

Joe Moorhouse

Job Titles:
  • Graduate Environmental Technician
Joe joined Plandescil in September 2020 following completion of his degree in Environment Science at the University of East Anglia. Joe has been working within our projects team as a Technician and putting his knowledge into practice by assisting with our belowground surveys. Joe's aptitude and ability to quickly pick up new skills has found him working on a mixture of small and large scale projects, including utility connections and drainage designs, planning applications, infrastructure design works and planning application draughting works.

Kayleigh Capps

Job Titles:

Kayleigh joined Plandescil as an Admin Assistant in 2019 following employment as a Consultant at a local Building Society. Kayleigh is highly organised and prides herself on attention to detail which is imperative in her role at Plandescil where she carries out tasks such as filing, maintaining spreadsheets, working on drone footage and generally supporting the Projects Team with all their administration needs.

Lil Cossey

Job Titles:
  • Project Assistant
Lil joined Plandescil in 2006 after completing her A-Levels as an Admin Assistant and moved on to be our front of house Receptionist. Lil now works within our Civils Team as a Project Assistant, preparing and managing the process of planning applications, organising meetings and generally coordinating projects and the team.

Luke Squire

Job Titles:
  • Utilities Surveyor / Technician
Luke is a former Personal Trainer and Gym Instructor who joined the Company in 2014 as part of the Surveying Team and has since been trained on AutoCAD to be multi-disciplined and a useful Technician. In 2016, Luke completed his BTEC Level 3 in Construction & the Built Environment in 2017 which he has since followed up with a HND in Civil Engineering. Luke is a fully qualified PAS128 utility and GPR surveyor, working closely alongside our Directors Olly and Carl, he has successfully developed a range of skillsets that see his work constantly in demand for engineering based drainage surveys, utility surveys and GPR surveys. He can quickly see problems and post process in his head as he works his way around the problem which has seen him gain a strong reputation for a go to engineering problem solver in the field.

Matt Hare

Job Titles:
  • Civil Engineer - Director Infrastructure
Matt is a Chartered Member of CIWEM with over 15 years' experience in Flood Risk, Drainage, and Highways works along with a wealth of knowledge in utilising Computer Modelling Programmes including MicroDrainage, AutoCAD 2D & Civil 3D, PDS, 1D and 2D Flood Modelling. Matt is predominantly working on Residential Developments, SUDS Schemes, Remediating Existing Overland Flooding, Drainage design, Flood Risk Assessments and Highways Drainage.

Matt Potter

Job Titles:

Matt Potter joined our Surveying Department in early 2017 having been a Personal Trainer for 5 years. In 2020, Matt completed his Civil Engineering BTEC Level 3 at City College Norwich. Matt currently assists across the company as a Technician and utilises his experience of working within our Surveying Department to assist with surveys, interpreting point clouds and laser scans. Matt is one of our CAA trained drone pilots. Matt has developed a keen eye for detail and has used that to become an internal source of knowledge for planning application drafting works and 3D models, his meticulous eye for detail see him checking lots of works internally as part of Plandescil QA process.

Matthew Eastes

Matt joined Plandescil in 2013, having previously worked for Local Authority and also a number of Private Sector Consultancy's in Norfolk, Hampshire and Yorkshire. Matt has over 25 years' experience in all disciplines of Civil & Strucutral Engineering, including AutoCAD, Reinforcement Detailing, Drainage Design, Ground Works Design, Steelwork Detailing, Infrastructure Draughting, Bridge Maintenance and Restoration and Maintenance of Historic Structures. Matt's range of skills has allowed him to work for a number of different Clients and increase the range of disciplines he has already gained.

Melvin Catalan

Job Titles:
  • Structural Engineer
Melvin joined Plandescil in January 2019 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and over 25 years' experience in civil and structural engineering. Melvin predominantly works in our Structures Department.

Olly Jones

Job Titles:
  • Director Civils & Projects
Olly joined Plandescil in 2006 and has progressed through the Company to become a Director and Chartered Engineer. Olly has specialised in Anaerobic Digestion Projects and Renewable Energy Plants, overseeing the Design, Tender, Construction and Project Management of a range of projects across the UK. Olly oversees work in numerous other sectors such as Industrial Estate Developments, Warehouses, Residential Estates, Design and Build Packages, Highway improvement works, Planning Applications and 3D Revit and BIM Modelling and most recently he has taken control and overseen the evolution of our Asset management, Aerial Drone Surveys and Drainage, GPR & Utilities Surveys. Having worked across all disciplines within Plandescil he is now an ICE and IET approved mentor and supervising engineer in the company for our apprentices and trainees.

Riley Groom

Job Titles:

Riley came to work for Plandescil in the summer of 2021 after he left school and was enrolled on a BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering. Currently Riley is learning about all the different work sectors within Plandescil and is helping out on site with survey and getting to understand the basic fundamentals of the business and Civil Engineering.

Ryan Mills

Ryan joined Plandescil in December 2018 from another Consultancy with a HND in Civil Engineering and over 3 years' experience. Having predominantly worked on structural projects in his previous role, Ryan has been expanding his knowledge into the civil engineering field at Plandescil to gain a wider range of skills.

Sally Hare

Job Titles:

  • Environmental Consultant - Director Environmental
Sally is a Chartered Scientist and came to Plandescil in 2007 following the completion of her degree in Environmental Earth Science. She began working as an Environmental Consultant and has progressed through to now managing the Environmental Team. Sally has extensive knowledge in Flood Risk Assessments, SUDS Schemes, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Contaminated Land, Remediation Strategies and Flood Alleviation Schemes. Sally has worked for a wide range of Clients across the UK using a variety of programs such as 1D & 2D Flood Modelling, ArcGIS, MicroDrainage Suite and AutoCAD.

Sheryl Stuart

Job Titles:

  • Receptionist
Sheryl joined Plandescil in late 2015 having worked in a similar role at a legal firm. Initially, she took on the role of receptionist to cover maternity leave and has since stayed on permanently as our receptionist, answering the phone and greeting visitors. Sheryl also assists with Plandescil's accounting and invoicing duties.

Tom O'Hara

Job Titles:
  • Degree Apprentice Technician
Tom first came to Plandescil in 2016 for work experience and continued to come in during his holidays until completion of his A Levels in the summer of 2019 when he joined us full-time. In September 2019 Tom enrolled a degree apprenticeship in Civil Engineering at Nottingham Trent University which he attends on a weekly day-release basis. Tom undertakes draughting work on a variety of projects as well as assisting with on-site work such as utility and drainage surveys. In 2020 Tom was awarded the Institution of Civil Engineers' (ICE) QUEST Scholarship. Working under Olly he was given the task of developing the companies foul water and binding rules understanding, since that he has worked with numerous local contractors, solicitors and home owners undertaking surveys, design and compliance documents for binding rules and foul water permit and discharge applications, making that area of the business his own niche.
