CRANDALL RITZU ARCHITECTS

Carol Crandall opened her firm in 1993 with a primary focus on high-end custom residential work in the city of Chicago and Chicago's north shore communities, loft conversions, and multi-family, mixed use developments. Architect John Ritzu joined the firm in 1996, and together they have expanded the focus of their practice to include affordable and market-rate multi family housing. While this comprises the body of their own work in Chicago, they have each practiced in notable architectural firms in Chicago, Pittsburgh and London. They have been project architects for a variety of work including new shopping malls, a mid-rise corporate headquarters building, elderly housing, corporate interiors, and special projects such as converting London townhouses into private hotels and documenting vernacular architecture for the Library of Congress. Their experience and education equip them to respond to both new and familiar challenges with energy and intelligence.
