Aaron is an environmental planning and resilience specialist with over 20 years of experience. He serves as AECOM's Market Sector Lead for Climate Change and ESG Services in the Northeast. He is also a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) certified provider, serves on the Environmental Business Council of New England's Board of Directors, and was a founding Steering Committee member for the Climate Adaptation Form, which is a collaboration between the Environmental Business Council of New England and the UMass Boston Sustainable Solutions Lab. Andrea is a Principal water resources engineer with extensive experience leading projects of varying size, type, scope, and complexity. Her technical specialties include stormwater management system design, surface water hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance. Andrea has considerable experience in green stormwater infrastructure and low impact development from project planning and permitting to life-cycle costing, construction oversight, monitoring, and maintenance. Andrea is a highly experienced project manager responsible for overseeing staff, reviewing project deliverables, controlling budget and schedule, and managing client relationships for dozens of projects annually. She is skilled at communicating complex concepts to a variety of audiences both in verbal and in written form. Andrea has authored and provided senior review of hundreds of technical reports, journal manuscripts, guidance documents, and fact sheets. Andrea has presented on water resources and stormwater-related topics at over 30 conferences and workshops nationwide, including the NEIWPCC Annual NPS Conference, IECA's Environmental Connection Conference, EWRI International Low Impact Development Conference, and NEWEA Annual Conference. Brenda L. Enos

Brenda Enos is a Director of Energy Efficiency with TRC Companies. She has extensive experience in managing environmental permitting, environmental compliance, and environmental management systems. Prior to joining TRC, Enos worked for the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport). While at Massport she was assistant director of capital programs and environmental management which included developing, launching, and implementing Massport's Resiliency Program. Additionally, she initiated the development of Massport's Disaster Infrastructure Resiliency Planning Study, one of the first of its kind in the aviation industry. Catherine Finneran is Eversource's Vice President of Transmission Project Development, Siting & Project Services. In this role, Catherine leads the development of Eversource's major projects, delivering important siting outcomes to enable a strong grid that can deliver clean energy and ensure resiliency and meet regional decarbonization goals. As part of this role she manages stakeholder interactions throughout project lifecycles. Catherine has more than 25 years of experience in clean energy, environmental protection, and economic development. Prior to her current role, Catherine served as Vice President, Sustainability and Environmental Affairs at Eversource where she led cross-functional environmental and climate initiatives, including Eversource's industry-leading goal to become carbon neutral by 2030 and commitment to setting a Science Based Target. Under her leadership, Eversource consistently earned recognition for environmental and corporate sustainability. Before joining Eversource, Catherine served as Senior Director of the Renewable Energy Generation Division at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, where she oversaw the design and implementation of programs to grow Massachusetts' clean energy market. She served as the Director of Clean Energy for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) overseeing clean energy efforts across air, water, and waste bureaus. She also served as the central point of contact in Massachusetts for brownfields redevelopment, working with municipalities and developers to access incentives and technical assistance to cleanup and redevelop contaminated sites. Early in her career, Catherine served as a municipal Development Manager and helped launch a non-profit community development corporation. Catherine is Vice President for New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE), an organization that cultivates leadership and professional development for women working in energy and environmental fields. She is Vice Chair of Strategic Planning for the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBC). She is a member of the Massachusetts Implementation Advisory Committee (IAC), which advises the state on climate issues. Chad B. Sumner - Founder

Chad is Principal and CEO of SumCo Eco-Contracting, LLC ("SumCo Eco"), a self-performing heavy site civil construction firm. Founded by Chad and his brother Travis in 2006, the company has completed hundreds of environmental improvement projects across the Northeast including dam removals and rehabilitations; river, wetlands and marsh restorations; coastal resiliency and climate adaptation; site remediation and redevelopment; culverts, bridges and other infrastructure; invasive species management, landscaping and more. In his role as CEO, Chad continuously defines and advances the firm's ecological construction niche; has assembled and guides SumCo Eco's complementary construction leadership team in addressing the diverse ecological, environmental and infrastructure challenges posed by climate change, and collaborates with industry stakeholders to improve best practices in ecological construction. Chad is a scientist by education and training, having received his Master's degree in Conservation Biology and dual Bachelor's degrees in Geology and Biology from the University of Pennsylvania. Chad W. Cox, P.E. is a Senior Principal with GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. Chad manages GZA's operations in Metro-Boston and currently is serving as the Managing Director on GZA's Board of Directors. He is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, specializing primarily in dam engineering including dam safety and design, dam decommissioning, hydroelectric project development, and construction engineering services. Chad has worked on numerous projects in New England and beyond, including the rehabilitation of the Upper Mystic Lake Dam, the Muddy River Flood Reduction Project, the Byron Weston Hydroelectric Project, and others. He has published papers on dam engineering with organizations including ASCE, the Association of State Dam Safety Officials, and the US Society on Dams. Chad was part of founding EBC's Dam Management Group and is still active with the Group. Chad has degrees in civil engineering from Princeton University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He began his engineering career with the Peace Corps, serving for over two years as a water supply engineer in Nepal. Chad is a native of Oklahoma but has lived in the Boston area for more than 20 years and now resides with his family in Brookline, MA.

Curtis L. Thalken

Normandeau's Chief Executive Officer Colonel (retired) Curt Thalken, PE has over 35 years of management, environmental consulting, engineering and permitting expertise. In his 10 years with Normandeau, COL Thalken has served in positions of increasing responsibility, including serving for the past several years as Chief Operating Officer. Since joining Normandeau, Thalken has been responsible for overseeing company operations, including expansion of Normandeau's Federal and State Government portfolio, an increased presence in renewable energy markets, and has championed innovative technologies to address emerging environmental issues for our clients. His experience with Normandeau includes extensive oversight of: energy transmission (Gas and electric) and power (including: nuclear, fossil fuel, hydro and other renewables) projects nationwide; Federal, State and Municipal environmental service contracts; and environmental compliance assistance for many private sector entities nationwide. Prior to joining Normandeau, COL Thalken served on active duty in the U.S. Army as an engineer officer for over 25 years. Daniel K. Moon

From 1997 through 2021 Mr. Moon served as the president and executive director of the Environmental Business Council of New England, the non-profit membership association representing environmental companies in the region. He currently serves as Chair of the EBC Advisory Council. Background Mr. Moon was the president of the consulting firm Longwood Environmental Management, Inc. located in Belmont, Massachusetts. Formed in 1987, this firm provided assistance with the development of environmental management and marketing programs to growing environmental companies. With over forty years experience in the environmental field, Mr. Moon has gained extensive knowledge of issues relating to environmental management. He began his environmental career working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency - Region 9 during the summer of 1972. In the Spring of 1974 after completing his MBA, Mr. Moon begin working at EPA Region 1 in Boston on policy and regulatory development issues and on the implementation of programs legislated by the Toxic Substance Control Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. Next, while working for national waste management firms, Mr. Moon gained cutting edge experience working on private sector issues including environmental compliance, corporate development, facility siting, marketing of environmental services, and the management of multi-million dollar hazardous waste Superfund remediation projects. In 1988, Mr. Moon initiated planning for a regional environmental conference and exposition - EnviroExpo (previously called the New England Environmental EXPO). This program grew into a major international environmental event, drawing over 5,000 regional, national and international environmental professionals and focused on major environmental issues of concern to business and government. Mr. Moon was active in several organizations in addition to the EBC. He served on the Board of the Massachusetts Corporate Wetlands Restoration Program, the Environmental Technology Advisory Board of Jobs for Youth, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Solid Waste Advisory Board, and the Board of Trustees of the Cambridge YMCA. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. In March 2022 Mr. Moon received an Environmental Business Journal Lifetime Achievement Award. In June 2022 Mr. Moon received the EBC Lifetime Achievement Award and the award category was re-named in his honor. It is now the EBC Daniel K. Moon Lifetime Achievement Award.

David M. Peter

Mr. Peter has over 25 years of experience in the environmental industry. Currently he is President of Site Redevelopment Technologies, LLC. (SRT), a company engaged in purchasing environmentally distressed and underutilized properties for remediation and redevelopment. Past remediation experiences along with a productive working knowledge of environmental regulations provide ideal opportunities to succeed in some of the more difficult brownfield real estate projects. Initially restoring brownfields in December 2006, SRT is pursuing properties throughout the region and is currently involved in redeveloping many contaminated sites and providing new alternatives to environmental problems. Previously he was CEO of United Retek Corp., responsible for many key brownfield redevelopments, which were facilitated by using innovative procedures to recycle hazardous soils and sediments. These new processing methods, with state and federal regulator approvals, provided for remediation of sites at greatly reduced cost. In many cases the cost reduction allowed for the redevelopment to become feasible and therefore create a productive property from a former abandoned, contaminated site. As General Manager of Aggregate Industries, Mr. Peter began and developed the Soil Reclamation Division to recycle over two million tons of contaminated soil, most notably from Boston's Central Artery Project, during his tenure of eleven years. The Division grew to be a substantial profit center and integral part of the construction material concern while also responsible for Safety, Environmental Compliance and Real Estate Management for the company. His career began at Marathon Oil Company/US Steel Corp., where he had a variety of engineering and management responsibilities. Mr. Peter holds a bachelor's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master's degree from Brown University. He is a member of the American Society for Testing and Materials, the American Chemical Society and is a Board Member of the Environmental Business Council of New England.

Dr. Paul Fennelly

Paul is also on the Advisory Board for GreenChoice PBC, an early stage company, that rates food products for their environment and sustainability impacts, and shares this information online with potential retail customers. Dr. Paul Fennelly was Senior Vice President, Global Director of Sales and Marketing for AECOM's Global Environment Business Line, which during his tenure, had $ 1 Billion in revenue and had more than 4,500 staff operating from 150 offices across North and South America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Paul retired from AECOM in 2015 and transitioned into a role consulting on business strategy for companies in the Environmental industry, including serving on the Board of Directors for emerging technology companies in the energy/environment interface, including NanoVapor Inc. and GreenChoice,PBC The author of 50 scientific articles and presentations, Dr. Fennelly holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Brandeis University and a BS in Chemistry from Villanova University. AECOM received five 2012 Environmental Business Journal and Climate Change Business Journal Business Achievement Awards. Paul has been a Technical Reviewer to Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, where he reviewed proposals for start up funding for new energy technology as part of their Incubator/Accelerator Program. Mr. Ionata has more than 30 years of experience in the implementation of multidisciplinary projects from inception through environmental impact review, design, permitting and construction. He managed environmental review, permitting and construction compliance for two of the largest public infrastructure projects in the United States - the $15B Central Artery/Tunnel and the $3.5B Deer Island Wastewater Treatment Plant and Outfall. As a Senior Vice President of Tetra Tech, Mr. Ionata leads a multidisciplinary team that provides engineering and environmental services to private and public clients throughout New England. He is well-versed in fast-track and design-build delivery methods, having fulfilled leadership roles on the MBTA Greenbush Commuter Rail expansion, the MWRA Blue Hills Covered Storage project, the award-winning MassDOT 93 Fast 14 Bridge Replacement Project, and the ongoing Longfellow Bridge Restoration. Mr. Ionata earned a B.S. in Natural Resources from the University of Rhode Island and an M.S. in Forest Science from the Yale University School of Forestry. H. Curtis Spalding

Curt Spalding is the Principal Consultant for Spalding Environment and Climate Strategies. Current consulting includes advising Safe Harbor Marinas (SHM) on the development of SHM's ESG commitment, with project leadership on coastal ecosystem resilience and stewardship. Other work includes supporting the transfer of a large brownfield parcel from the Navy to Portsmouth Marine Partners and continuing to support the activities of the Providence Resilience Partnership. Curt recently served as the Professor of the Practice for the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society. Research and advising students on urban resilience was my primary area of focus. Julie successfully represented a developer of affordable housing against an anti-SLAPP claim in the Massachusetts Appeals Court, which lead to an opinion deemed by MA Lawyers Weekly to be one of the Most Important Opinions of 2013 (Coalition to Preserve the Belmont Uplands et al. v. Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, et al., 84 Mass. App. Ct. 1118; unpublished). Lauren A. Liss

Lauren A. Liss focuses her practice on environmental law and policy as well as real estate development. Lauren has deep public and private sector experience, having served in a variety of governmental roles, including as president and CEO of the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency. In this role, she led the state's quasi-public finance and development agency, working with businesses, nonprofits, banks, and communities to stimulate economic growth across the Commonwealth. Pamela S. Hall

Pam Hall joined Normandeau Associates in 1971 soon after the firm was founded and was one of the "trail blazers" in the emerging environmental consulting business. She assumed leadership in 1988 and led the company for 32 years, until 2020. As CEO she was instrumental in leading the effort to develop Normandeau from a small regional NH firm to a highly regarded company doing business throughout the United States and internationally. In 2000, she led the effort to make the company 100% employee-owned (ESOP) and has been a trustee of the ESOP since its inception. Prior to becoming CEO, she held several other positions in the company and is now an executive vice president. She also served on the board of directors for 20 years, from 2000 to 2020, and was chairperson from 2015 to 2020. She has over 50 years of experience in the environmental consulting business and is a recognized business leader.Pam is passionate about corporate social responsibility including employee ownership and empowerment, civic and community engagement, volunteerism, and support of charitable organizations. Pam has a B.A. in Zoology from the University of Connecticut; an M.S. in Zoology (marine science) from the University of New Hampshire (UNH), plus additional doctoral work; a B.S. (summa cum laude) in Business Administration from the Whittemore School at UNH; and considerable graduate level coursework in Urban and Environmental Policy from Tufts University. In graduate school, she was elected to Sigma Xi, an honorary scientific society and Phi Sigma, an honorary biological society, and was awarded an NDEA Fellowship for her academic excellence. In 1998 she received the "Environmental Merit Award" from the Environmental Business Council of New England; in 2012, she was honored by the New Hampshire Business Review as one of "NH's Outstanding Women in Business"; in 2014 she was honored with an "Above and Beyond" award by the Business and Industry Association of NH (NHBIA); and in 2017, she was bestowed with a "Lifetime Achievement Award" by the NHBIA. More recently, Marquis Who's Who honored Pam with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020. In February 2021, Pam received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Environmental Business Journal/Environmental Business International; and in June 2021 Pam was honored by the Environmental Business Council of New England with a Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, she has been recognized by Volunteer NH for her commitment to civic engagement and volunteerism.

He has been with the Woods Hole Group since 1994, and has previously served as Coastal Engineer, Business Unit Director, V.P. for Scientific Operations, and V.P. for Business Development. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University, and a M.S. from the University of Delaware Center for Applied Coastal Research. He has experience managing large and small contracts, including support for a 5-year $15M USACE New England District contract that included several task orders in support of EPA Region one, most notably related to the New Bedford Superfund Site. He is focused on development of business relationships and multi disciplinary project and client management. His extensive market and contracting experience includes government agencies, architectural/engineering partners, offshore oil and gas producers, private owners/developers, power utilities, and manufacturing industries. Steve is Principal of Barrett Energy Resource Group and a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also Vice President of Minuteman Wind LLC which is developing a 12.5 MW wind project in Savoy Massachusetts. Steve has over 20 years of experience in environmental policy and regulation. His professional career includes work for international, federal and state agencies, municipalities, and private consulting firms. For the past 10 years, he has focused on renewable energy and sustainable development. Steve is presently developing guidance and serving as a technical advisor to the United Nation's International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for its renewable energy and emission reduction programs. He is the lead author of the Federal Aviation Administration's Solar Policy (November 2010) and the Principal Investigator for three separate studies of the economic and technical feasibility of renewable energy at airports funded by the National Academy of Sciences. Steve also has a strong interest in marine renewable energy, is working on tidal and wave energy projects proposed in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Marine Renewable Energy Collaborative (MRECo) of New England. He holds a BA in International Policy from Union College in Schenectady New York and an MA in Environmental Policy and Science from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Thomas A. Mackie is an environmental business lawyer. For over thirty-five years he has advised companies in the environmental industry and other businesses facing environmental issues. He handles facility siting, environmental and land use permitting, appeals, regulatory compliance, enforcement defense, liability and insurance coverage cases. For industry leaders Mr. Mackie spearheads environmental due diligence in acquisitions, mergers and similar transactions. These projects regularly involve the evaluation of myriad environmental liabilities, permits and licenses. Currently he is on the Board of the Environmental Business Council of New England, the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden and Keep Massachusetts Beautiful. He regularly presents at seminars on environmental law and regulation for the EBC, Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and other organizations. Thomas S. Burack

While serving as the Commissioner of the NHDES, Tom spearheaded creation of E-Enterprise for the Environment, a shared governance approach among the US Environmental Protection Agency, states and tribal governments to modernize and streamline the business of environmental protection and regulation in the United States. He served as the first state co-chair of the E-Enterprise Leadership Council, which provides strategic direction for the overall initiative and oversight of dozens of E-Enterprise projects.

Valerie A. Moore is a partner in the Real Estate Department of Nutter McClennen and Fish LLP.
