SUPER-ORGANIC, A

Superorganica was founded in December of 2007 over a long series of conversations and debates between two friends who both also happen to be musicians and artists. A primary inspiration was to create in the worlds of music, film, and art the same open and free (as in freedom) ethic that has become successful in the world of software. The examples set forward by the volunteer teams that built Gnu/Linux, Wikipedia, and Blender, fueled by ideas from the Homebrew Computer Club, Free Software Foundation and Creative Commons formed the initial basic ingredients. The vision is to develop an active, distributed organization around the world that can become an open systems, free culture, participatory fusion of Sony, Pixar, LucasFilm, DreamWorks, and other media corporate giants. Our goal is to have a free culture alternative to the creative products and content we are supposed to want to buy - but on a scale and level of quality that can directly compete with the best that our current business..
