The Plan has been established to provide qualified electrical workers with a source of retirement income in addition to other sources of retirement income available to them. The Plan is to be funded by contributions from electrical contractor employers plus contributions from the Participating Locals on behalf of their qualified employees... The Plan was initially installed effective June 1, 1978 with Locals No. 19, 219, 979, 1070 and 1251 as the initial participating locals. The Plan has been periodically amended since its original effective date and is further amended and completely restated to comply with the provisions of the Tax Reform Act of 1986 and other recent legislation, effective as of June 1, 1989. As of June 1, 1989, the participating locals are Local 219, Local 979, and Local 1070. Effective January 1, 2016 Local 219, Local 979, and Local 1070 merged into Local #906.
