KEMPER CONSTRUCTION - Key Persons
After being in the construction industry for nearly twenty-five years, Bill founded Kemper Construction in 1994. Bill retired and sold Kemper Construction Inc. to his daughter and son-in-law, Kara & Dan Fitzjarrald, in 2015. Prior to his founding of KCI, Bill gained experience in leadership roles in as superintendent in many Central Illinois powerhouses working as a carpenter and millwright, as well as Caterpillar Inc. Bill enjoys hunting, golfing, watching Cardinals Baseball and Illini Basketball, and spending time with his family.

Dan began fulltime with KCI in 2007 after graduating from Illinois State University. While at ISU he majored in Industrial Technology with a focus in Construction Management. At KCI, Dan handles procurement of work, project estimation, project management and labor management. He also works with subcontractors, project owners, architects and engineers to ensure that our projects run smoothly. Dan is a journeyman carpenter with Local 237 in E. Peoria, IL and has owner-operator status with Operating Engineers Local 649 in Peoria, IL. He is also a 3rd degree Master Mason, holds an OSHA 30 hour card, is a notary public and has achieved the "Associate Constructor" designation from the American Institute of Constructors. Outside of work, Dan is on the Canton Family YMCA board of directors and also serves on it's property & nominating committees. Dan is a member of Canton First Christian Church and also serves on it's property committee. In his spare time, Dan enjoys working on his small grain farm, fishing and spending time with his family.
Kara graduated from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Construction Management. Upon graduation, Kara began working for Kemper Construction.At KCI, Kara's primary focus is project procurement, estimation, and project management. She also manages and oversees all financial aspects of Kemper Construction. Kara also has developed the safety program at Kemper Construction, which is BROWZ certified. In December 2015, Kara and Dan purchased Kemper Construction from her father, Bill Kemper. In her spare time, Kara enjoys running, reading, and spending time with Family.
Marty joined the staff at Kemper Construction in 2011. While at KCI, Marty has been superintendent on a variety of projects ranging both in scope and magnitude. Marty has successfully worked with private clients, as well as public.
