Anthony Bodeis

Anthony earned his Bachelors of Professional Accountancy degree from Saginaw Valley State University in 2019 and graduated Suma Cum Laude. Anthony joined Nietzke & Faupel, P.C. in the winter of 2018 as an intern in the Agriculture Department and started working full time soon after graduation. Anthony recieved his CPA license in April, 2020. He is originally from Mayville, where he worked on his parent's dairy farm. He spent many hours in the milking parlor until his family decided to leave the dairy business in 2018. He feels right at home working with our clients who have dairy operations, expanding his knowledge of the industry. He currently serves on the executive board for the Saginaw - Great Lakes Bay alumni chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. When he is not working in the office or on the farm, he enjoys golfing, reading, watching Survivor and going out with his friends. He currently resides in Caro.

Beth Hardenburg

Elizabeth graduated summa cum laude from Saginaw Valley State University in December 2011 with a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy. While at Saginaw Valley, she was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars as well as Beta Gamma Sigma, an honors business fraternity. She joined Nietzke & Faupel, PC in October 2014 with experience as a public accountant and a credit analyst. She works in our Agriculture Department. Elizabeth worked on her family's farm while growing up and is excited to bring her skills back to her hometown. She has been the treasurer of her church for five years. Elizabeth enjoys playing guitar, singing, playing various sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Elizabeth and her husband, Christopher, reside in Bad Axe with Zeus, their Siberian husky.

Brian Hazard

Brian attended Spring Arbor College and Western Michigan University, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He joined Nietzke and Faupel in 1981 and earned his CPA license in 1983. In addition to his accounting, auditing and tax work, Brian is in charge of our firm's Quality Control procedures and helps our firm utilize technology. We also depend on Brian to keep everyone up to date on the accounting industry's ever-changing reporting requirements. Brian is a member of the MACPA and the AICPA. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Pigeon since 1990. Brian served as treasurer of the Pigeon Rotary Club and the Pigeon Chamber of Commerce. Brian enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and remote controlled models.

Carly Valentine

Carly Valentine became our Firm Administrator on January 1, 2021. She joined our team in January of 2017, working part-time in our Tax Department. She prepared income and payroll tax returns, processed client payroll, prepared financial statements, and completed monthly bookkeeping for clients. In 2019 she shifted her career focus to administration with keen interests in developing our firm. She is passionate about improving our use of technology, our workflow processes, team productivity and company culture. She continues to develop her role with the firm's prior COO, Eugene Gascho, who is transitioning to retirement. Carly is a graduate of Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, being up north at her family cabin, playing softball, bowling, and cheering on both U of M and Detroit Lions football. Currently, Carly is Treasurer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville, and Secretary on the board for USA Pride Softball Program. She and her husband Tyson, along with their two children Paisley and Briggs reside in Sebewaing.

Cheryl Albrecht

Cheryl received her Associate Degree of Business from Hesston College located in Hesston, Kansas with emphsis on medical administration. After marrying a Bay Port native, Cheryl moved from her home state of Illinois to the Thumb. She came to Nietzke & Faupel in 1988, following several years of working in a local physician's office. Cheryl manages the support department and assists our Firm Administrator. She takes care of all the bookkeeping for the firm as well as the monthly billing work. Cheryl is an active member at Pigeon River Mennonite Church. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and visiting friends and family back in Illinois.

Dan Drabek

Dan graduated cum laude from Baker College, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He came to Nietzke & Faupel in 1990. He earned his CPA license in 1993 and prepares hundreds of tax returns during tax season, as well as financial statements and other bookkeeping tasks during the rest of the year. Dan is a member of the MACPA and the AICPA. Dan served as President of the Pigeon Lions Club and has served as its' Treasurer for many years. He also serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Winsor Township Fire Department. He aslo served as President of the Huron County Firemen Association., is a member of the Oliver Township Planning Commission, the Caseville Eagles Club, and the Pigeon Conservation Club.

Don Faupel

Don graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He earned his CPA license in 1980. Don served as Managing Partner of Nietzke & Faupel, P.C. from 2001 through 2008. Don moved from Partner to Consultant at the end of 2019 as he phases into retirement. He continues to provide valuable services to a group of business clients. Don participates in many professional, community and church activities. He is a member of the MACPA, AICPA, and the Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council. He served as chairman of the MACPA Agribusiness Committee. Don is a a member and past president of the Pigeon Rotary Club and currently serves as treasurer. He also served as treasurer and board member of Bluewater Thumb Youth for Christ for many years, and currently is board member of the Pigeon Fund of Huron County Community Foundation. A sports enthusiast, Don is an avid collector of baseball cards. (Call him if you have a good one to trade or sell!) He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Barb, and two teenage sons, David and Kevin. Golfing and reading fill up his "spare" time.

Jeff Bushey

Jeff received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Central Michigan University. He began working at Nietzke & Faupel after graduation and earned his CPA license in 1987. He became an owner of the firm in 1992 and now serves as the Managing Principal of Nietzke & Faupel, PC. Jeff is a member of the board of directors and past president of the Farm Financial Standards Council, a nation-wide organization committed to standardizing the reporting formats of agricultural entities. He currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Technical Committee. He is also member of the Michigan Association of CPA's (MICPA) and the American Institute of CPA's (AICPA).

Jo Ann Lakie

Jo Ann is a member of both the MACPA and the AICPA. She is also a past member and past president of the Sebewaing Rotary Club. She is an active member of Immanual Lutheran Church, where she has served as director of the Vacation Bible School program and as secretary of the Endowment Committee. Jo Ann enjoys camping, spending time with family and friends, and walking for exercise. Jo Ann graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a "Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting" degree. She earned her CPA license in 1987. JoAnn's duties include the whole array of accounting tasks, corporate tax preparation, and governmental audits. JoAnn enjoys tax work and has many responsibilites during the tax preparation season. Kylie Braun

Kylie graduated summa cum laude from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy in May 2019. She began working in our Agriculture Department in May 2018 as an intern. Upon finishing her degree, Kylie joined our team full-time in the Audit Department and obtained her CPA license in February, 2020. She is excited to work with the team at Nietzke & Faupel, P.C. Outside of work, Kylie enjoys spending time camping; watching her younger brother play football, basketball, and baseball; and hanging out with family and friends. Kylie is also a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe.

Mandie Krohn

Mandie joined Nietzke & Faupel in 1999 and is a Certified Public Accountant. She majored in accounting at Alma College, graduating with a Business Administration degree. Mandie was promoted to Manager January 2013. Mandie manages crop farm accounting and tax work and assists in the management of similar work for dairy operations. She is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and enjoys installing QuickBooks for clients and helping clients learn how to use it efficiently. She enjoys living on a farm with her husband Steve and their 4 children. In her spare time she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and being with friends.

Nancy Smith

Nancy graduated magna cum laude from Northwood University with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. Nancy took a huge course load and graduated from college in only 2 1/2 years! She came to Nietzke & Faupel in 1988 and manages many clients in our compliance department. Her duties include preparing tax returns, financial statements, and managing many monthly accounting jobs. Nancy is a certified QuickBooks Pro-Advisor. She enjoys installing QuickBooks for businesses and provides training and support. Her knowledge of how to customize QuickBooks to meet specific business needs is appreciated by many clients. Nancy enjoys spending time with her family. Her husband Scott is a partner in Smith Family Farms, a local dairy and cash crop farming operation. They have 3 children, Jason, Sara, and Katie.

Sara Mallory

Sara Mallory graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in April 2004 with a Bachelor's of Professional Accountancy degree. Sara worked part time for Nietzke & Faupel, P.C. several years as in intern while attending college and began full time as a staff accountant in 2004. She enjoys tax and audit work, as well as some routine monthly bookkeeping. She is the treasurer for Chandler Township, and enjoys spending her free time camping, following her children's sporting events, and spending time with her husband, Jeff, and their two children.

Tracy Gremel

Tracy Gremel joined our Administration Team in June 2011. She came to our firm with many office admin skills and quickly became part of the admin team, helping assemble tax returns, answer phones and doing whatever was needed. It didn't take long for the firm to realize she could help our 20+ accountants standardize processes and ensure everyone followed them because the work all came to her to assemble and deliver. As our firm focused on standard processes more and more, Tracy's role in the firm increased. With her big-picture understanding of how work flowed through the firm to the finished product, she fully understood the why standards were important and was a process champion. Now, as Admin Document Manager, Tracy is the go-to person for the many countless details public accounting services. We appreciate our centralized process monitor! Tracy and her husband Randy have a daughter Megan. They live near Sebewaing, Michigan.
